I hear many people saying an orientation, but then explaining what they actually mean... and many have a different view, because of the game not showing where North is. So, to settle this matter once and for all: In what direction is the Ocean?

It's the steppes, not a desert.

Which does make sense, with steppe bandits roaming around. Of course ocean is south! In the north, there are mountains, which makes sense, and if the ocean would be in the northern end of the map, the water would be cold! And imagine going into cold water wearing steel!

we all know water goes down and we all know the north is the top and south is the bottom.

With mountains at the top and water at the bottom clearly the ocean is south.

I don't think this map was created with any real geographical realism. As has been said before, it's most likely a temporary map, so direction is just a very relative term. I always think of the ocean as being south...but to someone else it may be totally different. Oh, and not all rivers flow south, many do actually flow north. So again...its just open to personal interpretation.

Besides, I call the Dark Horde the Invaders from the East (the Black Khergits and Dark Knights), so that would make the ocean north and the mountains south.

Gasp! Cold oceans are the end of the world!

I have the correct answe in this envelope, and it says:

'Who really gives a ****?'!

If they did that, they wouldn't be invading from the North, now would they?

Imagine if an army of Scotsmen sailed down the east coast of England and attacked a town on the southern coast. They'd still be invading from the north, kinda.

The ocean must be to the north because I live in New Plymouth and we actually have ocean to the north and mountain to the south.
