Yes, but I removed mods.
Summary: I have played 100's of hours on the latest release of Bannerlord. My laptop handled the game fine on medium settings. However, overnight, the launcher stopped working from Steam. I researched and tried everything I could including complete uninstall three times (deletion of ALL files inc. hidden ones) and a fresh install, but still no luck. I was using a couple or MODs (Harmony & Butterlib). I've tried removing them as well and even reinstalled Steam, but till it refuses to launch. I followed steps to open the launchers manually via the Win64 folder via right click > properties > run as admin (note only the TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.Singleplayer worked this way). BUT when the game does open this way, its incredibly slow and laggy. I've played around the the settings and according to the CPU thing, I could easily push the graphics up as its only in the middle, but nothing seems to work. I'm not sure if this manual opening of launcher has some impact here but its super odd that doing it this way means the game is now totally unplayable. Gutted! and I have spent hours trying to fix it with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Let's try a clean install while updating your GPU drivers.
CLEAN INSTALL
To help you fix the issue you are experiencing, please try the clean install method. The clean install method is removing every single game-related file from your computer and reinstalling the game. Why do you need to remove the game when you just want to remove the modifications? Unfortunately, some of the modifications do not just add a new modules folder but also change or add contents to the existing modules folder. Without a reinstall, we can't be sure files are unchanged. You can find more information about how to do a clean install here.

Hi, thanks for your input! Much appreciated. I have now resolved the issue. The root cause turned out to be nothing to do with the game. I discovered that somehow, the internal GPU on my laptop had been disabled at some point. I effectively turned it back on, and boom, the game is working perfectly! Even though the game was set to run using the gaming GPU, it clearly did not like the fact the other one was off. Thanks again
