- Specific events: raids, sieges, tournament victories, births, captures and escapes.
- Different factions: neutral, enemy, friendly, own.
- People and places of interest: specifically marked by the player, either on the map or in the encyclopedia.
- Ability to change the colors of certain messages, depending on their importance -- enemy settlements being sieged by a third party are important but friendly settlements demand more immediate attention.
