Please allow us to hide helmets :(

I haven't really thought about MP yet but this seems to be a good solution:

Ki-Ok Khan 说:
It should be client sided.

And...

Leonion 说:
I could never understand what's so fun about it.
[...]

And I could never understand why people complain about that feature.
If it's a simple game option and everyone can decide for himself wheter to enable it or not why bother? No one has to enable it.

For MP games it can affect the immersion for other players but if it is client side that would solve the problem.

Honved 说:
Could the developers include in-game mirrors, so our character can stand in front of it and impress him/her self with their own good looks?
Hmm.
I read this several times but still not sure if it's sarcasm or not.

I never complain about options.
I complain about
1) games where it's not an option, but hardcoded obligatory feature
2) people unequivocally stating it's a fun feature

Mostly sarcasm, but the sad thing is, it would probably be a popular addition.

It's not?
Maybe "fun" is not the word I'd use but for me it's an immersion feature.
I'd never walk around in a non-hostile environment (talking about hazardous air) and talk to people with my helmet on.
Games that remove the helmet for conversations did it right. They removed the nuisance to remove the helmet before every conversation.

(And why did I spent 30 mins in the char creation screen?)

Because if they add every feature and an ability to toggle it that people ask for, there will be feature creep. You can list a hundred features for TW to add with the excuse "If it's a simple game option and everyone can decide for himself wheter to enable it or not why bother? No one has to enable it."
Not to mention this feature doesn't align with Mount and Blade's intended style anyways, it would be best for a mod.

Agreed... Just don't equip a helmet.... I would actually like it if they added visors like kingdom come deliverance.... But I know I'm alone in that opinion.

From my time playing KCD (according to Steam, 79 hours) I only remember helmets with visors popping down an overlay in combat, not visibly opening in dialogue. Well, the helmets I used never seemed to open in dialogues. At least the game had a muffling effect for your voice if your helmet was on.

A good idea as well. Instead of hiding the helmet via an ingame option just make it realistic and open it (if it's a helmet that can be opened ofc).

I am not asking for this feature to be added but Viking Conquest has another inventory screen for when you are in town so you do not always go everywhere dressed for battle. Now assuming this will not be a feature in Bannerlord, you can simply remove your helmet after each battle.

That is something you need to ask yourself.

Has everybody forgotten what the average M&B multiplayer face looked like? If anything there should be more helmets.

Do you not feel that the ability to hide helmets but still receive the benefits of wearing one would be immersion breaking? In single player, of course, this wouldn't matter in the slightest as it would be down to player choice, but in multiplayer it would kick up the issue of breaking immersion for other players while offering a sneaky advantage to those wearing hidden helmets.

I will pass on the idea but to be perfectly honest, I don't think this is something we will do.

I think benefits of the helmet should also disappear, that way it wont be immersion breaking.

I thinks same because for me these suggestions not are important since I love as my characters wears helmets which give prestige and renown to them

I know some would find that hiding the helmet breaks the immersion in the game for them, some won't mind, while others just want to go to battle 'Hollywood style'
For me it vary's, if i find a helmet that doesn't cover the face completely and which model I like, I leave it on, while sometimes I wish I could hide it.

Is it not possible to hide it only in single player mode? because you say that it is something you don't think will be done, or did you meant hiding helmets in multiplayer? If it's the latter, I would fully agree with that, i'm all for as equal a battlefield in multiplayer as possible.

Thanks for replying regularly on these fora by the way  much appreciated.

I think it's a matter of input vs. output. The work required to do this is better applied elsewhere.

In the current games, it's not practical to walk around without a helmet because there's no way to put one on before battle.  If there were some way to access inventory and arm/armor your character and companions appropriately for the impending fight, then you could walk around towns and villages without a helmet.  That would also allow you to mount/dismount, select between cutting/piercing or blunt weapons, carry either a shield or extra ammo, and other such last-minute changes depending on the opponent and terrain.  Ideally, ambushes would restrict you to whatever your character and companions have equipped at the moment.
