Please add an "Upgrade All" button

I strongly agree with that suggestion. How it might work:
- only units with one possible upgrade are upgraded
- units are upgraded from the top to the bottom (if you don't have enough money/horses for the upgrades, units placed closed to your character will have the priority)

Also I'd love to see a shortcut for recruiting all the prisoners willing to join my party. Very often I keep valuable troops as prisoners while travelling through the map and daily one or two are willing to join me. I quickly got tired with all the clicking.

And that's it right there. It was safe to assume that the people advocating for this have a very linear play style. Which is absolutely okay and I do that often myself (had an army of 80+ Sturgian Raiders, which was actually pretty badass!!) but that just isn't going to be the case for most, and constantly messing with upgrade preference sliders when your faction becomes multi cultural for this "button" to work, would then make the ease of it's use moot and defeat the whole purpose.

I just feel it's a waste of resources because it's not as simple to implement as being demonstrated, and I the OP is inaccurately stating that I have to love clicking as the only reason I would dismiss it as a worthwhile feature
It's not linear, it's that I know what kind of troops I want from the different factions, and I rarely mix same types from different nations cause party screen is a mess at some point.
I've go 500 men in my personal party, plus 200 in companion armies, and managing all this is quite tedious imo, tough I absolutely agree this is minor and not something urgent to adress, my point on this is that it wasn't that tedious to manage armies in Warband, can't really figure out why tough, I think it has to do with the slider thing that pops out everytime I guess, having the upgrades button elsewhere like in Warband was easier

Guys, come on.

Upgrade all would iterate the collection of troops ready for upgrade.

If there is one upgrade branch, attempt the upgrade. For each troop that can't be upgraded (due to cost or missing perk), simply do nothing.

If there is are two upgrade branches, redirect the troop to a second collection that will contains only troops that require a user decision.

If there are any troops that require a decision, present a new dialog with the list of troops and allow the user to make the decision.

When all are upgraded, before applying the upgrade, display a dialog informing the player of costs. Allow OK or Cancel actions.

If accepted, upgrade 'em.

Or, personally, I'd be happy with a filter in the party list that trims the list view down to only troops that are eligible for upgrade. It would make it a little easier to just click through them all.

My problem is to many veraity of units, so im endlessly scrolling to see if just one needs an upgrade. My suggestion would be an upgrade tab or sort. The units list could really use some sorting variables. So you click it and it sorts say melee, mounted, ranged to the top of the list.

Have one of those be 'upgradeable'.

This. Sorting by nations would be helpfull also
