This is just a request for a new sticky to replace the current one, with somebody controlling it who has time to update it at least once a day (I'm not volunteering, by the way).
I actually think control of that particular thread should pass between people, as each person finds they don't have time to update it anymore they can "pass the torch" to someone else.
Just unsticky ther original thread, have the new curator create a new one (possibly with copied content from the old one), and have a mod sticky the new one.

We're getting quite a few good mods lately, which can be hard to separate from all the other threads. Having a stickied list of recent mods again would be great.

What say you? Anyone want to volunteer? Would a moderator make the switch if we get a volunteer?

Thats a great idea and thanks for volunteering, Janus!

You, sir ..... are a great guy. :D

Get it created and post it and I'll gladly make a switch.

How astute. You know, being a mod and having to go through a lot of threads anyway, I think you'd be a good candidate personally.

I've got too much on my plate as it is, mainly with trying to keep food on the table and bills paid at the moment. In the community here, I've got my site to keep up and I'm trying to get my Arena Expansion mod updated with new features. My spare time is taken.

I actually wouldn't mind keeping the list updated since I visit the forums frequently, but it's so far behind at this point that getting the initial up-to-date list ready would take a fair investment of time. Not something I want to get into now. :P

EDIT: Heck, while we're monkeying with quotes, how's this?

:o Heh.

Just make a thread and ask people to post links to finished versions of their work (or someone else's). Should be an easy task to collect them all then. If you don't submit your work, you don't get listed. Expecting someone to go through the trouble of tracking everything down on their own is a bit much, I think.

Ok then, if nobody volunteers for this by tomorrow night, I suppose I'll take [P]aradox's suggestion.
C'mon, somebody?

What? To just go through the forum once a day and update the sticky if there's a new release? I can do that if nobody else wants to.

The best way to do it (and the easiest way to keep it updated) is to note that only creators of mods can post and only then to link to their mod.

Use this as a guideline:

Also add that they need to include the last time it was updated and the version it works on.

That will make things super easy to update and it will be the responsibility of the mod-makers to keep the thread updated as to versions it is compatable with and when their last update/version is.

Could you do it that way?

I'll gladly help ... just can't gaurantee constant caretaking.

Looks like we've got a taker if nobody else steps up to the plate. Narcissus, I'm sure whatever list you come up with would be a good starter for the thread at least.

I'm envisioning it listing mods (and other resources) separated by released and unreleased status, and if released, sorted by the M&B version it's compatible with. You could just stick "0.632 and older" above n008's current list, and probably just focus on mods for .704 and up.
But, since I'm not the one courageously offering to work on it, that's just an idea to possibly use.

EDIT: I can probably help keep it updated in the future if need be, it's just now is kind of a hectic time for me.
Oh, and didn't see Narc's last post before making this one.

Actually ... to use a format like I just described, I would think that it would best to start without any mods in it whatsoever. Maybe one or two of the most recent and top mods, but just to demonstrate how they would be listed.

All of this could be done in any number of ways ...

Heck, give the man a chance. I've gotta go in a short bit to take care of a bunch of crap and will check back later tonight.

There's a (not full) list at the Unofficial Modding Community already. You can use it if you want.

Maybe the mod community here could take a page from the Morrowind modders. They had a site morrowindfiles.com, I think, that was essentially an online database of mods for the game. You could search it by type, give ratings... The creator could put a description in and all that.... I really wish I knew for sure the site but that was a couple years ago...

Janus has the repository which I think is a great start... maybe that site could become the database, or at least a site similar to that?

I know there will be hosting issues, bandwidth issues etc... perhaps Armagan would be willing to put up a "mod site" at taleworlds?

Yes I can do it.

It would be easier though if modders (leaders of mod projects) PMed or emailed me when there's an update. Once a day I'll update a thread with all the new info. There's no point in doing unnecessary work.

Is that OK?

OK. The email address will be:

[email protected]

It's the same email hoster as my everyday email address so it will be no problem to check.

I'll create a new thread, "Mount & Blade Mod Updates". Narcissus, or another Mod, can you sticky it?
