And what about making a revolution, and when you conquer all the centres, it would shift back to the original country, but with you on the head.
That'll need Kingdom management...
And that revolution, maybe that could be done with the 'claimant' system? (although, in my opinion, it isn't needed; Just being an officer and kicking ass around yurope is enough for me -- oh, and of course the beautifull uniforms).

And indeed, great stuff sudi555! Please keep it coming, I can't wait for the hats!

It more like start coup and could happen servaal different ways, hell serval bloodless coups napoleons was one them. The hard part is getting rest world regonize your state legit.

Why then, conquer yurope! Napoleon did just that when the others didn't recognize him!

Napoleon was no warwonger, only reason he fought so much ever one was breaking his peace treaty. Hell if the  Treaty of Amiens was broken he may not even become emperor. So no perfectly with run frances.

Hmm... Prime Minister, coups, claimants, revolutions. It seems I have got a lot new ideas .
Do you guys want some Europa Universalis gameplay in M&B?

Also Joel, do not forget that you only speak about France. That country was really different to other. Europe consisted mostly of monarchies. Hmm. Let the player choose a government type... Nah, that would be TOO much.

If can become king, we should so have coronation scene. Honest I pefer to see how Prime Minster is coming.

EU III! *pulls out flags with EU III logos*
Definitely! At least for me...

Great game indeed! Just played it last week as Prussia. But I was a little bit too agressive, so my reputation is really LOW.

Joel, Don't forget I made a poll. The result is: people want to live like a soldier or king. But mostly soldier and I am going to focus on that point.

What about political influence? Become minister and try to extend your influence to eliminate all opposition. Then a coup d'etat, choose government type and rule!

It would be a long way to script, so I do want to hear your opinions.

In my opinion, that wouldn't be necessary.

First, the rulers of any country besides France were from a royal family, or at least high nobility; The player is neither, so it would be only possible in France (other countries wouldn't accept your rule). And choosing government type? There's only despotism! The experiment of the French revolution has failed, nobody wants the return of the terror (I believe).

Second, IF there would be a revolution in France, the royalists would of course take that opportunity, and any other ruler with brains should support them in putting the Bourbon on the throne (another military dictator? God spare us...). And I doubt the French would accept an other Emperor than Boney.

Political influence? Maybe, to get awarded fiefs "depots & taxing posts" more easily. But become minister... I think that's not neccesary. Just shooting at enemies with muskets in fancy uniforms (and being part of an army), I don't ask much more. Besides, that's what M&B is about, am I right?

No. It's about feasting in Praven, while being in the middle of a devestating war.

I greatly think your opinion is important. M&B is a game with a focus on battles. But some more management should be added. Just be sure everything goes how you want. And if it doesn't, use battles .

No, that's WB.

Wait a minute, feasting? I suddenly got a vision of the Waterloo ball in-game, with me parading in my fancy uniform, throwing around expensive glasses after toasting, chasing damsels
...Hum, I believe you got my point...

Anyway. Just a thought of me (about an impossible feature?)...

Well. THAT wouldn't be necessary xD.

In this era many ways to pull off. His Marshal where not all millitary commander but given post gr eat admistratcive ability. Since it was republic they did held election for politcial offices and emperor did apoint his own high as well. England had pretty good system work office with there house common and lords, and more famous career officer did hold political post as well throught election or appointment. Now if going the ruler routine by default it would be least on paper republic when napleon because he was emperor of republic he only pull if off because people request it so it show sybomilc he was emperor through there will. Other way would marriage and by proxy of marriage. It simpler MB to go politcal carreer similar to one marshal or the Iron Duke himself. Officer where allow to hold poltical offices in some country god view you could buy comission. If need help in resarch department in left life style and the social climbing of day. Sorry the poor typing Iphone can a ***** to type.

What was weird from my sight was that most of the officers ( except the high command eg. Bagration, De Tolly, etc. ) in Russia bought their ranks, and ended up as awesome commanders sooner or later... Lets take Paisy Kayssarov, for example, he bought himself a position within the life guards division ( dunno which regiment exactly ), in the invasion, he showed a lot of bravery, and many count him as Bagration II

Hehe, yes, Iron Man.

BTW Quintillius, I just scanned a page from one of my brother's Osprey books: Portugese troops during the 1800-1805 period. I thought you could use it;
(This is the only picture about that period in this book; there are no plates with common soldiers' uniforms during 1805.)

Been in Leiden today, to buy some Osprey books (only one of my wishlist was availlable though); So, to celebrate my newest gain, here's a scan of a colour-plate:

See those badass Bavarians!
