Dear forumite, look at the features Quintillius added, and tell me if they aren't representative of the life of 'gentlemen' during that age. Besides, you're not a prince/count in-game, just a low-born soldier/subaltern/NCO.
AND. There are no 'nobles holding fiefs' anymore. Did you play Version I? Just look at your 'nobles', they are now all 'officers'; In smaller states, the faction leader (King/Emperor/Prince/Elector/Sultan/Pope) holds the main city (mostly the only one) while his officers (generals, marshalls and such, no 'vassals') have the castles and the villages. In biger stater, let's look at the Austrian Empire;
The faction leader, Emperor Francis, has most of the cities, a important ones like Prague and Wien; the other cities are given to one of (or both) the Archdukes, the imperial princes & brothers to the Emperor. The officers (with among them the occasional Freiherr, like Mack), have castles and villages.
Please play Version I before you resume.
And learn proper English.
Come down now. Last thing I am trying to do here is make a go at being arrogant, fedualism is dead my friend, Yes Archdukes imperial family members, Not your run of mill noble. Yes I did play verson 1 officers in charge of ever city bother the living hell out me. Unless ever city in Europe came under military governships that tad hard to swallow. Only very few give any land if at all. Unless where highest ranking of officers, titles where only honors. If lucky bugger then rise up to Marshalship least under the Emperor he may be made prince or really lucky a King, but that are beyond rare case.
Personaly speaking am I quite excited about the fact least trying adding civil system/rank to the game. Least he try to make break of being other bland tast of fedalism with different coat of pants
