Need More Info Playing as Rhagaea, Can I not form an independent kingdom?

Summary: Warning: Yes, I'm playing with mods. But I honestly don't think this is due to mods.

Long story short, my main character was killed (in a really epic battle) and was married to Rhagaea. I decided to make her the successor of the clan and declared the kingdom independent. Now every save I try to open crashes. Is this a known issue? Can the storyline characters go maverick and be played as normal? I really like now the narrative of my campaign is going and I'd love to see this one through...

PS - I also did some experiments and reverted to an old save and murdered my main to see if I could replicate the issue. saves with Rhagaea as kingdom leader crash every time.

I don't use mods, but I've also never been able to get my main character to marry any kingdom leader. However, I would wonder if this is because she is designated as ruler of the Southern Empire and if you change to an independent kingdom, does that 'get rid' of the Southern Empire & the game doesn't know what to do with that situation or...does he show her as ruler of both an independent kingdom & the Southern Empire and it doesn't know how to handle 1 player ruling 2 separate kingdoms?

What is the version number you see on the launcher? We don't have 1.3.0 as a version.
