Playing as a lord already in-game?

Is it possible, instead of playing with a new character, to play as a lord that is already in game?
If no, is it possible to somehow take the banner a lord in-game is using, instead of having to pick one from the list of banners?

When you choose you banner you pick from all the banners that are available, including the ones that lords use, so you already have that option.

In some mods you can start as a vassal of an existing faction, but you till start as your own character at level 1.  But you can always import a character if you want to start with a char that is higher level.
