I encountered it many times, there is a player with a wrong name, it looks like identity theft but it isnt. If you get their real names (Sending them a friend request shows the real name) and write them with it, they dont even know something is wrong.
I guess that there is an issue in the naming system which gives players other names than they should have
Example 1:
The name of the guy above is an epic games user with the name " G-Stimulator ", the other one an established player in the competitive scene.

Fake guy is called Sully Sullenberger on steam, original name owner is also a respected player in the bannerlord competitive scene

this time the guy is called Luke and is/was one of the leaders from the clan TDA (Fire & Sword) as i spoke to him in chat why his name was "wrong", he said that his name wasnt wrong. I can give you a screenshot of said chat but it is in german and i dont know if this would help
