I have several surgestions for the 2 new capturable castles.These are:
1.The ability to name your own faction once you have taken 1 of the 2 castles.
2.The ability to send out your own patrols/partys.This could be acumplished by haveing another option in the castle(s) you have captured.Clicking on this will bring up the party screen like the 1 used to garrison troops castle only the troops on the right hand side of the screen are the ones in the castle and your characters party and on left are the people you want to send out on patrol.Once you have the troops you want to send out you click the ok obviusly But then YOU mark out the patrol route you want your men to follow.
3.Your own castle(s) should have a merchant,tavern,smith etc.Also you should be able to enter your keep.
4.I know hunting has already been surgested but this is a possibility of how it can be accumplished.When you inspect your own castle(s) there should be animals running about.If you kill 1 or several the meat goes to the merchant in your castle(s).You then go to the merchant and talk like you would useually but before she or he asks you that general stuf he or she goes "I have the meat from the animals for you here my lord,do you want it now?then your optuions would be yes and no.
5.Your partys and castle(s) should have a site radius.By this i mean they can reveal the location of other partys on the map if they enter a particular radius.The castle should loargest site radius so you know when there is a siege comeing up and to get to your castle fast.The patrols(if added) should have the basic radius for your characters party and any other party.
6.Enemy partys should attack your castle a they would attack another party.Then the "battle" icon pops up above the castle and the sound effects of battle kick in.YOu can then ride out to aid your castle or just leave it to get takenl.Once you get to your castle which is under attack and enter the battle you appear inside the castle next to the keep.And your archers if you have any are on the wall shooting down at the enemies.A few melle people are up on the wall while the rest are standing inside the castle guarding the keep.And 2 are guarding the gate like the guards in a regular town.Also if stables are added there should be a few horses waiting to be mounted during battle you can issue the mount horses command to get your troops to use them.For the stable idea to be realistic and make sure people don't go "where the did those horses come from" The should be another option in the castle which says "Visit the stables" Then a screen pops up which is something like the merchanting screen.You can place horses in the left hand side inventory from your own inventory.Obviusly the inventory on the left side would be very and only have 4-7 slots.All the horses you put in the left hand side inventory show up in the stables when you inspect the castle and are ready to mount during battle or fun when inspecting your castle.
7.The ablity to enter the towers.This could be done by replaceing the doors on the castle and makeing them open.When enter the tower there should a spiral stair case whitch you can clime to reach the top of the tower.As you clime there should be the odd little platform with a arrow slit to shoot out of.Plus all the towers shoukld have a door on the ground level so you can acess it with out climeing onto the wall.Obviusly there are doors witch enter the towers on the walls
8.ALL walls should accessible.by this i mean a staircase that leads up to the wall.like the opnes already in the castles.But add one to the walls at the back etc this will make the castle a little more realistic.
9.The port culis should be able to be opend.There should be one of those cranks which open the portculis on top of the gate house(the place where the enterance is).Also another you that shuts?opens the draw bridge for the castle which has one
