So very very very very temped to try it lol. I want more of a challenge and from that I assume that females get more of one. But I'm just not sure what differences their are and they're worth the awkwardness of marrying a man because lets face it that would be a liiiiiiitle bit uncomfortable lol. So those of you who know if there's a difference please enlighten me

As far as I can tell, the only difference is in the relationship that you begin having with lords.  You have to swear allegiance to a faction without getting any lands and then prove yourself before you become a land owning vassal.  Other than that, very little difference.

Word on the street is, if you create your own faction and assign Matheld as a vassal, you can still marry her even if you are female.

it takes more work to become a vassal and some lords just straight up wont like you but you gain renown faster.

I never got married on my female character, I don't see any big reason that I should.

Any proof of that?

You know...I think I may have seen a screenshot out somewhere........ *goes to look*

Ok...no screenie, but found this testimonial.....

I've got Matheld as a vassal of my kingdom, and I am a female character in this particular game. Though one particular conversation topic - the proposal one - I got her telling my dear girly that Matheld looks for delicate females as wives.

...

LESBIAN LOVEFEST!

Edit: And on speaking to Ymira who has a better relationship with me... I, Lady Myria, Queen of my country, am now betrothed to Lady Ymira.

You decide.

Marrying Matheld likely is the only way to have feasts as a Queen, as your first Hubby would be above doing feasts. And Matheld seems like she is the only person in Calradiy who would know how to host a proper feast.  (just picking up the rumor, no proof)

Though, seriously: may Queens host feasts if married?

I think a major difference is the political gain a male player character gets from marrying.

Also female player characters (supposedly) have to take their first castle, after that fiefs are easy (as long as you are the top contributor and have lots of renown you get stuff without asking). But then, I'd assume that everyone player just grabs their first castle (these come with a village, too) by force, primarily to pick a convenient spot.. or are there lazy lords who are content with crappy villages (no castle)?

At least you can talk to all the maidens during feasts without having to ask their brothers.

A fun thing you can do i go up to Sexist lords, wait for them to insult you and then they will take their 80 man army and destroy the 15 man group you established on day 6

Oh right, that was not so funny.
Not sure I even had 15 soldiers...

I think there are some other insults you can counter and have a duell, or others where they appologize (get renown).

What's this business about marrying Matheld? I just tried and she gives me the same dialog as every other female companion turned lord: Other maidens blah blah blah.

It may very well have been "fixed" at some point between 1.105 and 1.113.  Too bad imo.

@ Ada, you get renown regardles after an insult given. My guess is if in a city or castle it will be a duel but on the field they will simply attack.

My sentiments exactly

I'm sure it would easily be possible, it was talked about in a few other threads.  But you would have to find a modder who wasn't against lesbian romance in a game largely based on historical counterparts where such a thing wouldn't happen.  I'm all for it though!

This thread like exploded with posts lol. I would appreciate if they made female characters accessible to females (Not for the reasons you guys have ) so that I can not feel odd when trying to increase my renown with feasts or leaving my companions usable instead of locked up in a stupid castle hall lol. I'll play as male for now then for 2 reasons one I started a female name and while attacking looters my computer locked up and two because evidently theirs not a viable difference between the two.

Puerkl8r 说:
i think that was already fixed, lesbianism didn't exist in the middle ages!
Sure it did. We didn't invent homosexuality during the last century, it's just that that specific term hasn't been used throughout history.

For instance, the very term "lesbian" is a reference to the island of Lesbos, where women were allegedly left to "explore their relationships" around 600 BC.
