Yes, it's time already for another one of these threads.

-Features-
-- Uniforms and flags for the new regiments
-- Combat engineer class for all factions
-- Hibiki's particle effects for the firearms
-- Crouching

-Bugfixes/Gameplay tweaks-
-- Limit of 50 sandbags (sandbags are now lower-poly and have LODs, so people won't crash) and 4 chevaux de frise for both teams
-- Fixed the AI behaving all weird
-- Pistols will have 10 cartridges instead of 15
-- Slight rebalancing of musket/pistol accuracy
-- Other minor bugfixes

-Possible Features-
-- Native American factions
-- Grenades

Not a big list compared to the last one, so keep those suggestions coming.

A suggestion: Engineers being able to destroy barricades in one hit. They'd be useful for assaulting enemy positions and quickly dismantling your own so you can move.

Why? The British and French were allied with the Iroquois and Huron, respectively, during this time period.

Well, Oberst, Sergeant and me ambushed more than 3 times by Natives in game. Its... annoying.

If your going to add a native american faction then shouldnt you add a america colonial faction as well ???

Native american faction is a great idea!!!

Can't wait for surprise attacks from the forest with an indian, how we watched in the last of the mohicans.  8-)

On indian factions: The 1866 mod is a great place for indians and American factions. This mod should continue to concentrate on the European part of this war. I especially dislike the idea of adding a faction like native Americans, which will encourage annoying tactics such as running (REALLY FAST! YAY!) around naked and spazzing out in insane shows of ball-less-ness in melee combat. I seriously think this would be a huge step in the wrong direction for this mod.

You call charging a group of musket-armed enemies with nothing but a hatchet "balls-less"?

Native American factions is opening up a whole new can of worms...

Honestly, as much as I love Colonial and Native America, I like the focus on traditional European warfare - which I already find somewhat lacking, mostly due to a lack of maps and players to properly represent it. In this respect, adding the Americas may "fit" better for the time being, but I am afraid of it overshadowing the European side of the story. I have a hunch that many people will want to always be indians, and always "play as indians," leading to lack of teamwork and an abundance of poll spamming.

But, those concerns aside, how, on a practical note, would you implement Native Americans correctly? You would have to find a way to deal with a wide range of random skin tones and hairstyles which do not resemble Native Americans in any way. You could add your own custom skins, of course, but then only the people using those skins could play as Native Americans without looking out of place.

I agree, the Americas are somthing to be tackled at a later time.
To combat the skin issue, just have a range of armors looking like skin. As well as boots, gloves, and helms. Just turn force minimum armor on, (as it should be, nobody fought naked.) and vìola.

The colonists seem to be decently represented as militia if you just use the minimum armors (waistcoats, etc) in the british faction. Just don't grab a musket w/ a bayonet.

They weren't Americans at the time, they were British Colonists, and they served the British so they are part of Britain.
