Physics, terraforming and making the world more interactive

I think it would be a great idea to make M&B have physics. I don't know if the current game engine will allow this kind of innovation but would be great to add physX support for things like siege equipment (like catapults, roamers). Would be nice if soldiers could rush to the wall and put a ladder and get up using that ladder (not 1 or 2 but like 10). Would be nice to see bricks flying around when a catapulted rock hits the walls of a castle.
It would also be nice to have the ability of terraforming - changing the surrounding landscape during battle. Like making small rows where your sharpshooters hide from enemy cavalry or setting up spikes so that cavalry can't just run through archers, killing a few and damaging many (the horses would simply stop next to it). The AI should be able to use this of course.
About making the world interactive - you put a ladder, get into the castle with a few soldiers and then open the gates so the rest can get inside. Because currently the only thing I saw being interactive was a moving tower which is used to get troops into a castle. But troops don't hide from archers behind that tower and archers don't shoot burning arrows to burn that thing down...
