Phantasy Calradia - 2024 reboot

So its better now to have it on steam then? Or just for stable play, leaving the betas for manual install?
If you actually bought Warband for Steam, I'd use the Steam workshop as it gets updated sooner/with less hassle for both you and me.
It wasn't easy for me the first 5 days or so but by now it is actually less effort to update Steam workshop than to put on MODDB, and the changes take place within about 5 minutes. I guess steam is still checking everything until then.

The issue for me was I already bought Warband back in 2013 or maybe 2012, so I was very resistant to buying it yet again for Steam. Even when I did buy it for Steam I did so mainly because it was on sale with the idea of "eventually" making a steam workshop, which I didn't do for 8 months. I saw a dozen pages of fail in the Taleworlds forum, especially from the Perisno member, and it made me thing hmm this isn't for me. The breakthrough was Swyter showing a different way to pull it off at page 14. Using his method I update now in about 40 seconds. Maybe less.

The steam version's main weakness is it lands at a folder other than "modules", it is buried within "workshops" way off on a different file tree branch. I'm not sure WSE2 works well with it either. I actually have a WSE2 enabled Warband at a different path outside steam for development quick testing (wow WSE2 loads 4 times faster, at least!) and the Steam default path under steam's warband I leave virginal, whatever that looks like. I then copy savegames from one to the other to keep them in synch, but be warned WSE2 puts savegames in a DIFFERENT folder than normal Warband, so it takes some added effort. (And for completeness, both are folders under Windows Documents.) This, and currently I can't create characters in WSE2 mode, just normal warband. I reckon 98.5% of Steam Subscribers never turn on WSE2 and that is fine.

Glad to see you still here, you were one of the early ones back in the day.

Got it, will do

Not playing as intensively as during summer, but I always end up returning to Warband

Quick patch for Christmas:
Phantasy Calradia 2024 v160 C16.II
chiefly adds greatly improved stability (16x fewer crashes at worst case settings). I have not been able to crash this in 2 days of trying at worst case settings. Your mileage may vary, but do turn off HDR and otherwise make sure "load textures on demand" is toggled ON.
Drop this zip over your existing Phantasy Calradia directory and "extract here". LSP source is included.
