Petition for Australian/Oceania Servers

It is ok for petitioning a server for yourself, but why there are bunch of Australian people attacking Chinese in CN server? Is that the way you express your oppnion?

While I may not disagree with everything you've said, it doesn't excuse the blatant, idiotic racism I've seen on the CN servers. The average aussie spamming ch*nk in chat isn't thinking about the housing market while they're doing it.

There's a small portion of the OCE community which are just extremely racist and sexist and do nothing but talk trash and cause drama, many of them are known trolls and don't represent majority of our populations thinking/actions. Many of those players are known by name and have been permanently banned from our Warband servers, but they have hundreds of keys and keep coming back. Majority of us though are nothing but respectful to all people, and are happy to have interactions with many of the folks from China. I've personally had many good interactions with Chinese players and clans and it's been a great experience that I normally wouldn't have been able to have.

Thanks, I have studied in Europe for many years. I do encountered some people call me fxxking Chinese in front of my face. But most of them are friendly and willing to help you as best as they can.
To be honest, I do have been annoyed by those people because they frequently appear in CN server and saying those nasty things to me and my friend, that why I'm bit angry about that. But on the second thought, those racists are everywhere, and they are minority who can't represent a nation or whole humanity. I do appericate your support. And I do hope we all can play in a friendly environmet

I really do hope though that TaleWorlds sees how many dedicated Oceanic players we do have though and decides to support us, we have been waiting a long time for this game and it won't succeed competitively in our region without them.

Video games are a wide enough reaching medium that you've all sorts of quality people playing.
You've got the most obnoxious people imaginable and people that are sickeningly over-sympathetic. You've got all sorts.
I'd like to think that you don't have that much "real" racism. I don't think it can do much harm over the internet either way. That doesn't make it classy behavior though.
An individual being rude towards the Chinese is probably just presenting that opinion as the group of people who does have what he doesn't serves as a reasonable effigy for their anger.
You see the same in every online game regardless of what the problem is. In matchmaking games people are notoriously upset with the people they're matched with. If they're North American they'll call out "Brazilians!" If they're in Europe it's "Russians!" In those nations they obviously hold the same opinions in the reverse. Just as I'm sure there are angry Chinese people screaming about the "Gweilo". It's unlikely that anyone involved really knows what they're talking about and criticizing, or has legitimate prejudices. It's usually just lazy whining finding a lazy outlet.
People will say hurtful words for a million different reasons and none of them really warrant any attention. Turning it around and generalizing a broader population based on the actions of a few children is pretty much the same words the children are using to begin with.

I have been waiting 8 years for this game, I went from extreme hype and checking for a devblog everyday to indifference and apathy. Now its finally here the game is in a buggy state and my only option is a laggy server in another country.

Are there going to be oceanic servers on early access launch, if not is there going to be private hosting that Australian groups can pay for to get a server on launch?
If the answers to both of these are no, you are going to abort the oceanic community before its born. Then I will give the game a negative steam review regardless of single player, until that situation is remedied and I will encourage all my friends and fellow Australians to do the same.

They have unfortunately made it very clear there will be no private hosting. At this point I think it's pretty sus too that they haven't told us if we will get servers on launch. Callum told us he would update us...its only 14 days until release...still no update? It really isn't that hard to give us an answer. Has Taleworlds actually made moves to set up a server here (as you would think they should have 14 days before release)? Yes? No?

I definitely agree with you regarding the Aus community. Without servers it will be dead before it gets started, and I doubt it will ever recover.

I think we are gonna get screwed again. Nevermind the fact that the sales in australia and new zealand will cover the costs of running a server for some amount of time. I mean dedicated players would unironically pay extra money if we had to in order to get tolerable servers but I bet thats not something taleworlds would ever consider because it would look morally dodgy or something but having unplayable multiplayer is worse.

They have said private servers will be a thing, but most likely closer to official release...maybe in a year? Regarding OCE servers, Taleworlds going silent is always a bad sign. It's almost like they like to just lay low until everything blows over so they don't have to deal with it. Maybe I'm being too hard on them, and they have every intention to give us servers, but it's really getting a bit late now. Callum told us he will notify us as soon as they find out, but we still haven't heard anything.
