Personal dilemma - motivation and talents

And only fix army cars, barely do any military work, and are paid meagerly compared to civilians.

I'd say, do a stint in the reserves, and work on whatever cars you want, don't make working on cars a monotonous job. Dictate the jobs you take. I know a guy who does basically that. He's a Captain in the Army Reserves, and only works on Ducati motorcycles when he has the time. He runs the business out of his home, built a nice shop attached to the house to handle the bikes, and does a few bikes a week. He also teaches various classes through the summer on how to work on your own Duc, runs a webshop for Ducati parts, puts out an occasional e-magazine called Desmotimes and has a blog about Ducati bikes.

All in all, he brings in a lot of money between it all, and he doesn't devote his life to any one thing, so I guess it doesn't become stale.

I can live with not having army work - racing seems more fun right now.

Maybe I should start acting again.

I'd have to spam a lot, and that's just not nice to do in the WW thread.

Go to Botswana, they need people to train park rangers to keep endangered species safe.
If Congo wasn't experiencing difficulties at the moment that would also be an option for the same reason.

...Park rangers?

I think he's telling you to help stop the illicit trade in ivory.

Yes and Yes.

Well, I could do that. Would I feel challenged in the long run?
Yeah this is a pretty cool idea. You'd be in quite some danger protecting the rhinos, as rangers often fight against superiorly equipped poachers, I'm sure you'll be challenged.

It hinges on a skill set I've already developed though. Weapons, small unit combat tactics, and leadership. Doesn't really satisfy my desire to develop my other skills.

Guerilla warfare, surviving in the wild, fighting against the odds, doing good for the world etc.
