Getting really angry now...
Warband PW4 Crashes my whole computer during gameplay ive tried everything even turning down the settings to the lowest
please help!

Why would you want the smaller download? I got the full one and it was only 5 mins, this is with the worst connection on the forums. Takes me two days to install NTW from steam! I'm very happy with the file size of this :grin: Thank you PW!
 
Here's another little release: rather than delay it for thorough testing as for most previous releases, I have only done some quick tests to fix the most obvious bugs; so server hosters might want to run it on a secondary server for testing, before changing over on their main server.
4.2.0:
Add a "quick battle" game type which disables crafting and stock counts, allowing unlimited item buying.
Add a "no money" game type where items can be freely taken from and given to stockpiles, money doesn't exist.
Allow faction members to restart as a peasant commoner when respawning.
Add a herdsman troop.
Give the traveler troop 2 tailoring.
Increase power strike for some lower tier troops.
Check fishing net placement in the loop as well, in case moved with a cart.
Change the wording of the peasant training station use string.
Requested castle name.
The other game types can be used with "set_mission quick_battle" or "set_mission no_money" in the server configuration.

There is only a patch uploaded since I'm over the monthly internet data cap for a few days, which slows the connection speed down to 64Kb/s (or worse), and it seems quite pointless to upload the whole 32MB when only 0.3MB is changed.

Note that the correct module name is "PW_4.2" not "PW_4.2.0", since the last number is for representing small updates or fixes that retain compatibility.

Well, could someone test the new game mod please, i don't have time since i'm mapping atm.
The no-money and quick battle system is helping 25% of my mapping time is setting false stock for my events.

EDIT : How do you activate the new game mods in the CFG text pad please ?

It's presently running on the Union servers and seems stable enough so far. I've naturally not tried the "new" game-types.

I fixed any issues that I found, of course, but since the new game modes were written and tested in only one afternoon to evening, I am not very confident that 4.2.0 is correct and stable as other releases - which normally get a week or so to be thought about and for issues to come up in testing.

If you don't want any of the changes, just don't update; the previous version still works as well as it ever did. Releasing early and often is a good development practice, especially now that I don't have the free time to manage and thoroughly test large releases any more.

Your scene will still work fine; just add the herdsman troop if you want it.

As explained, this version was released so interested people can test it, taking some of the workload off me; if no problems are reported for a day or two, the main download and title will be updated.
 
  Vornne, how does the "no_money" setting works? Do the stockpiles still need to be filled?  For example, do I still have to mine iron ores, take the resources back to the castle, so a smith can use it to craft a weapon, which then can be taken freely?
