Persistent System (PSYS)

Persistent System is a complete enhanced nameserver based on the Persistent World NameServer by Vornne
It offers enhanced scripts like Automatic Banking | Armor Saving | Troop Saving | Position Saving

What does PSYS offer
Anything from Automatic banking / Armor Saving / Troop Saving ETC

Do i need a webserver for PSYS?
No PSYS host everything you will get a .zip file containing the files for your server which will connect to the PSYS Server

Do other people need to download my files before they can use it
No PSYS is completely server-side scripts so people dont have to download your specified files to get access to the features

How do i request access to PSYS
Use our forums called www.psys.nl in the forums in the support area you will find how to Request a Password for your server

What features are currently done
We currently have Gold Saving / Armor Saving / Position Saving

Are there any costs attached to PSYS
For starters no, if your server does require more bandwidth than we want PSYS users to use we will ask for a small donation to help fund the server

Can i suggest scripts
You can always suggest scripts if they are good enough we will add them to the system

When can we expect a ALPHA release and what will it include?
You can expect a ALPHA version within 2 weeks it includes Armor Saving | Gold Saving (Not Automatic Banking) | Troop Saving

How do i access my PSYS Client
When your PSYS request is approved we will send you your unique details to our PSYS client system which is based on Vornne's Nameserver

Whats the idea behind PSYS
Lately lots of people have been complaining about NEXUS having the advantage on every pw server because of their Scripts

PSYS brings features like Nexus but in a different way so we can even out the competition and let other people have a chance at having a server with special features
Im not saying Nexus is so active because of the scripts but it definitely has something to do with it

We are looking for staff
PSYS is looking mainly for Coders/Scripters who can work with Python,SQL,PHP
We are also looking for support staff who can Support our clients

What language are you planning on using for your game?
 
I'm sure some people will appreciate you making this Glenn. Especially those who're looking to create a new server.

I think the way you are going about this is perfect.  Building it off of vornn's nameserver is an amazing idea.  My only worry is if your database goes down, everyone will be screwed.  We all have abandonment issues from Froweey shutting off the databases for PE, and we have seen how devastating it can be.

That, and anyone who wants the scripts has to put alot of trust into Glenn; as he is handling the database stuff, it means he'll have a backdoor to their server/s, which can be used for malicious things, or just for cheating.

Plus, it'll be very easy to attack, so security on his end will be an issue, because I'm not sure how he expects to keep the database protected. Which means potentially anyone using his scripts will have to rely on his database not getting bombarded or hacked.

Are you saying his database might be vulnerable ?
Interesting, is it because the database isn't on the same box than the server ?
(Then it doesn't go throught localhost and has to open his database to public area).
 
All data will be send trough SSL encrypted servers

And every user gets their own client section which will be IP locked from the rest of the world
 
Wow you have added SSL to PW. Neat.

Remote vs local database server will always present vulnerability, not so much with respect to data not being 'tampered with' but in reliability of delivery, availability and consistent latency.

Local always beats remote hands down in that respect, and it too is not invulnerable. Even local SQL servers seem to want and scratch now and again, and the Warband engine will flood the console (and at times the player screens) with OPCODE errors and sometimes just flat out crash. Been there, done it, and no doubt it will happen again on Nexus. I guess I should improve error handling :grin:

yeah @s0mebody, with the scripts we had, it lagged the server really bad with 60 players.  I made sure to get a processor that could handle it this time around.

@Glenn, actually the main thing I was worried about was latency.  Your server box is most likely in EU area and my server is mid US.  Not to mention your server box is gonna lag if there are multiple servers running these codes, especially if you have the location saving feature.  I think it is far less stressful on the warband server and database host if the location saving is gone, or it's done the safe zone way like nexus said they were doing or gonna do.

Even with their server it rubber band lags and I'm sure they have decent hardware. 
 
The difference between mine position saving and froweeys is that i wont let it save every second and most packages are small so NA wont have any trouble with it and i have a 1gb/s NIC so i doubt a few servers can lag out my server
