Can you get rid of the incredibly retarded "bandits steal your loot" feature? I'm playing with Valahir troops and I just noticed that my balanced executer, which I bought, is gone. Like what the ****? They also steal horses in your inventory. Who thought that was a good idea to have these units take things from the player(Valahir Huskarls and Jarls shouldn't count as bandits anyway) despite there being exceptional morale at all times, and the fact I can't get it back? Not to mention, you'd think someone would notice if a Huskarl who has never rode a horse in life, tries to hop on a destrier or warhorse, wolf, or even a wyvern. Or, hey, what's Sven doing walking around with the kings waraxe? Y'know, the guy who feeds us and leads us to victory. I'm honestly considering just cheating to get the items I lost back because it's retarded, or just not even playing anymore.

OK, I know what he's talking about.  Beany, your stuff wasn't looted.  It simply vanished.  I don't know how to explain this a better way, but here goes.  I've had a recurring problem I keep forgetting to post about because it's pretty rare, and I have no idea what is triggering it.  As with most people, I keep between 3 - 6 horses (depending on inventory capacity) as "pack horses" for movement.  Any items I don't want to sell or books, I keep in the bottom of my inventory just above my horses.  For some reason, and very rarely, everything in the bottom of my inventory simply vanishes.  Horses, gear, books, etc.  I haven't been able to figure out if it has something to do with increasing my Inventory Management skill (afterwords, I move everything to the bottom again).  It seems to happen after battles - I let my heroes loot, then select "Gather remaining..."  I look in my inventory to see what I get, and everything is fine.  I go to town to sell the junk, and all my horses, books, or gear in the very bottom 3 - 9 slots will vanish.  As I said, this is extremely rare - but every time I have noticed it, it was under these circumstances.  I'll do what I can to try and replicate it.  Sorry, I wish I had said something earlier but I keep forgetting.  Oh, and it's only the very bottom 3 - 9 slots where things vanish.  The food I keep in the top slots never vanishes, or anything in the middle.  It's always, always the very bottom 3 - 9 slots.
It's exactly what you said, my balanced executer along with pack horses and spare horses vanished and they all were in the bottom 6 slots.

If you're using the Companions gather... feature, it might be moving items from your inventory into the loot stack somehow. I try not to use that feature too much - I noticed in an earlier patch that it occasionally duped items, so now I just equip my companions manually.

BTW, to everyone who cannot find weapons enthusiast (for dueller quest) - delete PBOD, installing the PBODless version of the last hotfix.

I found the dueller quest guy but i can't finish it because when i go and fight the trainer's men it just makes me fight ace fighters in practice... for ever.
Is it fixed with the latest hotfix?

This is not how this feature works.
"bandits steal your loot" only means that the more bandits you have in your party, the smaller is your looting chance after a battle. Items that are already in your inventory are 100% safe.
Something different happened to your Executer.

Leonin I just encountered the same bug but in this case I don't have any bandit units except for 8 Mosuru Warlords. Half my Inventory(Bottom half) which was all my food and extra mounts just went missing after a few battles. Unfortunately I did not make a back-up save and just overwritten the previous file.

No I just clicked the leave items on the ground after a battle with rouge nobles of a quest given by the Mercenary Captain of the Reich, because I had a full inventory. But when I was running around for a few mins, there was a report that I had no more food. When I checked my inventory, the bottom half (exactly half) is already gone. Lost all my extra mounts and all my food which was found in the bottom of my inventory.

Noticed a small glitch with the newest patch, the mesh for mountain keeper armor is invisible/can't be found, so there's some dwarf lords with just heads, weapons, and gloves.

Are you sure you carefully installed first 0.81 and then 0.811 on top of it?
I just checked the patch. All the necessary files are in it.

K, so I did the patch thing, correctly this time, but I noticed something else today, I noticed that a lot of my soldiers rout in battle, even when the odds are stacked in our favor and we haven't had any deaths, our morale is great and I have a high leadership skill, so I have no clue as to why they're routing, lemme show you what I mean
http://prntscr.com/es4kdg
Also, those that get routed show up on the after-battle screen as killed, obviously they're not but that's how it's shown
*edit I forgot to mention that this is against Darude Zannstorm (crappy pun right?)

Is PBOD on?
I cut all this routing bs from the main code.
Never edited PBOD, do not bear any responsibility for its bugs.

Right you are again, can't do with/o PBOD tho, need it now more than ever against the Zannstorm

Why is the Kingslayer such an underwhelming piece of sнiт?  I guess that's why the bard gave it up so easily.  If it were a single handed sword, it would have been barely adequate when compared to a balanced assassin blade, an emerald hilt royal sword, or even some elven blades.  If it were a two handed sword, it would not have come close to being top of the line.  But it is not either, it is a bloody bastard sword, so it sucks at everything, except maybe as a sword you can use on horseback while using a shield...  but then it is a joke, both damage and speed wise, totally inferior for the purpose to dozens of one handed swords.

Ok, it is not that hard to get, but neither is the Aegis, and the Aegis is actually good, if you use shields.  The Kingslayer should be reworked into something that has an use, not what it is right now.

Kingslayer
First, this petty complaint doesn't warrant its own thread.
Second, Kingslayer is the most easily-obtainable legendary sword in the game, hence the stats. And still it is a decent weapon.
Third, it has already been slightly buffed for the upcoming version.

P.S. One of the reasons it didn't have high-end stats was that it had relatively low STR requirement and was initially meant to be a fast&light sword for non-warrior companions. However, this advantage was eventually lost because of buffs of companions.

Third, it has already been slightly buffed for the upcoming version.
That's enough :fruity:
Btw, flamebringer might be reasonable for " can crush block", for its stats is very familiar with highelf sword, which player can easily get a lot (with good pre-).

It'd be great to have a way to upgrade your legendaries to Balanced/Masterwork state, or to upgrade armor to Thick/Reinforced/Masterwork.

Kingslayer isn't top tier but it's hardly awful. It's fairly easy to obtain, and 1h/2h weapons are actually an extremely good weapon class.

- Can use superior 2h animations without a shield.
- Can use a shield, with small damage/attack speed penalty.
- 1h/2h damage/swing speed penalty on horseback is much smaller than the 2h damage/swing speed penalty - but 1h/2h weapons typically have better range and damage than 1h weapons. For that reason, 1h/2h weapons are excellent cavalry swords
- Range is long enough for cavalry use, while being short enough that you can use it in infantry meatgrinders and close duels - 110 is a jack of all trades weapon range.

Sure, there are plenty of other weapons that are a bit better all around or have powerful specialty uses like the Highelf Sword, but the Kingslayer is fairly easy to get, easy to use, fast, decently hard hitting and all around a well rounded early-mid game weapon that will get the job done until you find bigger and nastier weapons.

In what game?  Warband's greatest failure in modeling is in longswords, also known as bastard swords.  They are terrible compared to what they should be.
- Can use superior 2h animations without a shield.
... while being a joke compared to actual two handed weapons.  The high elf sword (a common item) is better on foot, the Perisno sun sword (trivial to get) is better on horseback, the golden sunblade is better period.
- Can use a shield, with small damage/attack speed penalty.
In which world is 35% a small penalty?  It brings the damage to mediocre levels, and the speed to abysmal ones.  Next time you fight the Matriarch's guards in melee, observe how the ones with shields are cut down immediately while the ones without can actually fight.  That's because even with awesome proficiencies, 35% speed penalty is lethal.
- 1h/2h damage/swing speed penalty on horseback is much smaller than the 2h damage/swing speed penalty
Is that specific to Perisno?  It is certainly false in Native, and every mod I've looked into.  And even if it were true, it is irrelevant, because on horseback, it is about timing, and if one's timing sucks, a longer lasting attack arc can actually be considered advantageous.
- but 1h/2h weapons typically have better range and damage than 1h weapons.
The Kingslayer has worse range than the one handled giant cleaver and the demonic sword, which are pretty easy to get, and more or less matches the range of at least half a dozen common one handed swords.  By the time I got the Kingslayer, EVERY companion of mine had one handed sword with 114 or 115 range, and damage and speed that eclipses that of the Kingslayer held in one hand.
For that reason, 1h/2h weapons are excellent cavalry swords
Nope.  Not in Native, not in every mod I've looked into, and not in Perisno, either.  Warband simply shafts the longsword sword type so that no matter what you do, they suck.  The only mod that circumvented that actually switched weapons on the fly as you equipped or unequipped the shield.  Perisno does not.
Range is long enough for cavalry use, while being short enough that you can use it in infantry meatgrinders and close duels - 110 is a jack of all trades weapon range.
With the slew of awesome, high damage, high speed one handed swords in the game, I would much rather have something like a balanced royal sword with emerald.  Without a shield, it matches the Kingslayer damage, while having a -3 range and speed.  With a shield, the 35% penalty makes the kingslayer a joke.  And the royal sword is just one example.  The assassin blade?  Some of the rare but not unique longswords like the Spirit of the North?
Sure, there are plenty of other weapons that are a bit better all around or have powerful specialty uses like the Highelf Sword, but the Kingslayer is fairly easy to get, easy to use, fast, decently hard hitting and all around a well rounded early-mid game weapon that will get the job done until you find bigger and nastier weapons.
You can get a one-handed knight claymore (and what an inane name that is) in the first few game days, because it is common as dirt in Tolrania, I think.  I know that every new character of mine gets it.  With a shield it is superior to the Knigslayer.  You can also get any of dozens of two handers which are superior to the Kingslayer without a shield.

My kingslayer went into the Fountain chest as soon as I took a look at it.  It has no purpose.  I hope that the revised version is good for something.
