I really don't see how you could consider the inventory chest an "abuse of game mechanics."  If a player chooses to carry extra quivers in their inventory, that comes at the expense of tying up precious inventory slots which could be used for other things. Its using the inventory chest exactly how it was intended to be used all along. So now, not only can you not refill your ammo in battle, you can't change your loadout if you've equipped the wrong weapons for the enemies you're fighting. I love what you've done with the mod, but this is a really, really bad change

*EDIT* I just saw that you can get the chests back by enabling the old random battle scenes. Thank god. I like the new battle scenes, but my inventory chest is more important

Another question: I didn't see an option for "realistic bow damage" anywhere. Does this mean you removed the extra crossbow damage or just made it the default? Or am I just not seeing the option?

Hmm.

There is an option in cheat menu to change your race. You can do it for the time of the quest and then change back.

Thanks! It appears I can continue playing my elf, great! Have not thought about cheat menu at that moment:smile:

So crossbows just do their listed damage now? Did you beef them up to make them more powerful or are they weaker than they were in .8?

The option was removed, not the feature. :wink:

aah, good. I like the deadlier crossbows. But why not just buff the normal listed damage? Wouldn't that have been easier to implement?
 
It seems as though the companion auto-equip isn't checking whether or not it's giant/dwarf equipment. It does seem to check and recalculate when you check their equipment yourself but this looks a bit silly. I have a screenshot of Zaria in giant armor that looks very silly but I can't post it because my account is new.

I took all options that led to a higher looting, so every bandit, stealing, type choice.
