BTW, does anyone fell like sharing screenshots of their custom troop tree?
At least for me it would be very interesting to see what you've made out of them, especially if it's something themed.
I was tampering with the item_kinds1.txt and troops.txt adding my own items (well mostly taken from other mods like ACOK, AWoIaF and Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth) while retexturing some of them like the Roman Hamata. Though I ran into a problem since any items I add which increases more than what was already in-game does not literally add them to the game, I changed the ones already in the game like the items before the tournament/practice items, the merchant books and the 6 maps of perisno.
I decided to hijack the Cretas Monarchy in order to add my faction into the game, the Singha Rajahnate ("Kingdom of the Lion"). It is an infantry focused faction, literally infantry focused since they have no archers or cavalry whatsoever (maybe the lords but since I have no idea how to add more lords or create my own faction, I'll settle with this for now. But if I can do so, I'll be adding War Boar or even Lion riding Lords
). It may sound crazy to have a faction without archer or cavalry support but this faction has the most powerful (I think) infantry to ever to walk the land of Perisno (maybe among the Major Factions).
The line breaks up into 3 which are the: (Justicar Line, Warrior Line and the Soldier Line)
The Justicar line is fastest of the three lines, allowing them to outrun any bandits or slaves on foot. Armed with a mace, tower shield, two-handed blade and throwing knives. As their name suggests their main job is taking prisoners or if they can't take them alive then they execute them on the spot.
Uripon (Bondsmen) ---> Tinimawa (Freemen) ---> Horohan (Household Troops) ---> Tanod (Enforcers) ---> Bilanggo (Wardens) ---> Birdugo (Executioners)
The Warrior line is focused on getting into the frontlines as fast as possible. They run very fast, have low damage but quick attacking speeds (one handed machete/cleaver), large tower shields and throwing spears allowing them to pepper the enemy while trying to get as close as possible. Once they get close, their quick attacks will be a major pain against troops with slow attack speed since they will get countered before they can even land a hit.
Uripon (Bondsmen) ---> Tinimawa (Freemen) ---> Horohan (Household Troops) ---> Timawa (Noble Warriors) ---> Tuhon (Elite/Masters) ---> Sandig (Ruler's Bodyguards)
Last but not the least is the Soldier Line which is focused on dealing with cavalry and softening up the frontlines before the Justicars and Warriors deal the finishing blow. While they are slower and weaker then the other two lines, they are not to be underestimated since they are armed with one handed axes, throwing axes, tower shields and a spear. But the most interesting feature with this line is the that the top tier unit of this line will get a spear-axe, yes you heard it right a spear axe, not a halberd, not a dagger-axe nor a poleaxe but a spear with a small axe head near the tip. This allows the Alabardero to use it as a spear and as a halberd (albeit lower damage because of the smaller axe head). Lastly due to the line being armed with axes, they are best sent in first to deal with enemy shieldwalls and soak up damage for the better and more expensive troops to deal the finishing blow.
Uripon (Bondsmen) ---> Tinimawa (Freemen) ---> Sandatahan (Militia) ---> Kawal (Regular Soldiers) ---> Bayani (Heroes) ---> Alabardero (Halberdiers/Noble Guards)
Accidentally swapped armors between tier 5 and 6 (Bilanggo with Birdugo and Tuhon with Sandig, respectively). Also forgot to change the skin types since I'm using Draharan faces with Cretas skin types (Notice the Bilanggo which has a brown face but white skin).
While not featured is the Noble line which is consisting of only the Tumao (Noble/Highborne). They are also infantry that are armed with quick short swords, jarids, tower shields and two-handed iron axes. They are a more buffed-up and deadly version of the Common line.
Basically the tactic that I do with my troops is send a first wave of Soldier line troops to deal with cavalry and break some shields, then send a second wave of Warrior line troops to eliminate the main force and lastly send a third and last wave of Justicar line troops to break up and rundown any survivors while capturing any in the process. Kinda like the historical tactic that my forefathers used.
