Hello, I have recently got a new laptop, but I can't experience my favourite Mount & Blade: Warband without rather significant performance issues.
The laptop is an ASUS TUF Dash F15 with following specifications:
- Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7-11370H
- RAM: 16GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop
I believe that the aforementioned performance problems correlate with the number of player/bot models rendered by the game, because they are more severe if more bots/players are taking part in battle. I experience frame drops, framerate becomes very unstable, the game stutters and sometimes slows down, which renders it (especially multiplayer) unplayable. During those periods GPU usage reaches 99-100% and fan is very loud. They worsen if the game runs for a while. However, those issues are non-existent, provided the bot count is low, for instance, the tutorial and custom battles with 10 bots run at perfectly stable 144 FPS, but still with rather high GPU usage oscillating around 70%.
I have tried to fix those problems by:
- Trying out all (literally) the settings in the game launcher
- Veryfing game's files' integrity via Steam.
- Reinstalling the game twice
- Making sure that neither the laptop nor GPU nor Windows is in power saving mode
- Trying out different settings in NVIDA Control Panel
- Making sure Warband isn't using integrated GPU
- Updating all drivers, which weren't up to date
Solutions mentioned above didn't help and Warband is still running poorly, hence why I am posting on the forums.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
