I didn't need to whine for one, I just pointed out that I didn't have one at an appropriate time (read: I didn't bring it up out of nowhere), and they decided to give me one. If they hadn't given me one I would have been fine with it, which no doubt was a point in my favor. It's called having tact, and judging by that comment you don't have any.
