People on horses who knock into every fight

It annoys the **** out of me when I'm having some tough one on one infantry fight with someone, I'm taking this last swing to finish him off and then all out of sudden my screen is filled with some ****ing HORSE with a clueless guy on it swinging his sword wildly in a hilarious attempt to kill my enemy. My sword stops at his ****ing horse, I get an axe in the face. Idiot on the horse dies right after.

Does this happen to you folks too?

Oh, and also lately i started to appreciate full-friendly-fire server settings. In that case you can just kill the horse and continue your fight. Helpful.

Unfortunatley, this kind of thing happens is almost every multiplayer combat game on the internet.

Even in Call of Duty and Battlefield you have idiots running in front of you while you are shooting trying to steal your kills.

Clan vs Clan is the best way to play in any multiplayer game sadly.

Yes, because we all spin the camera around scouting for enemy horsemen when we're engaged in some heavy one-on-one manual blocking heat, huh.

There is always that one guy who has to come in and try to turn it around on you. It's your fault for allowing your ally to bungle into your melee and knock you off balance. You are all clearly less skilled than the poster I have quoted. His power level is well over 9000.

I find random horsemen annoying, but what are you going to do? You can only kill them.
I take a spear and ram it through the horse's face, then my swing my axe through the now dismounted jackass's neck.

Eh? If the people are acting as you described then the horse charging you won't just block your swing, it'll knock you down and give your enemy an easy kill. It's actually worse for you than no FF with these kinds of idiots running around. Equally laughable is when you're in a fight with another infantry unit and 8 goddamn archers are so desperate to take the kill they just open fire on you both, getting you killed instead.

A smart horseman sneaks around behind the enemy with a well placed chop.  The bad variety runs right between both of you as you have mentioned.  Hopefully people will gradually start to get a clue.  Everyone is still pretty new.

I admit, i sometimes charge into a melee on my horse to knock down the enemy to help my ally kill him or at least allow him to get the upper hand in the fight. I will also charge in if i see that an ally needs help, whether that is 1v1 or 1v2 the enemy's way. Sometimes i charge in only to stop after hitting the enemy and it's then i get in the way of the fight, which i think all horsemen try to avoid (unless they are actively striking at the enemy from their horse rather than trying to escape).

I think the role of cavalry is to protect the infantry, namely archers from other cav and from being hunted down by infantry. Also, eliminating enemy archers is an essential responsibility of the horseman i think. There have been many times i have saved my comrades from on top of a horse.

I don't mind so much about allies kill stealing especially if I'm fighting 1 on 1. I would prefer that my team is one kill closer than victory than me having a rad k:d ratio. I would be happy to see a lance spear the guy I am about to kill as long as he dies lol. That said, if the horsie gets us both killed like you said, the horsie better hope we don't move to a new map and find ourselves on different teams (or we meet again on a friendly fire server... Team kill muahahahahahahaha)

And promptly be kicked.  Unless you're in a duel server, you'll have to deal with people butting in.

Generally speaking they annoy the enemy more than they annoy me, so it all works out OK.


What I hate more is friendly archers shooting at whoever you're fighting from the other side of the map, with no regard for whether they're actually going to hit or not.

Eh... you don't win battles ultimately one on one or in a fair fight. It's the nature of the beast. Survival of the fittest. When opportunity arrises, take it. I've had archers or even other ground troops do the same thing. I think that the fact that a horsey is big and bulky is all that is catching your attention.

I see it as a comrade that came to your aide to help defeat a foe with superior force. He's called a FORCE MULTIPLIER.
