PC Specs Good Enough?

Be careful comparing integrated, laptop, and desktop CPU/GPUs on the same playing field. In general, integrated < laptop < desktop, but if you get the best laptop card you could outpower some desktop hardware. At a considerable amount of cash, of course.

If you want the most cost efficient, powerhouse desktop GPU, go for the Nvidia 660 or 760, or the AMD 6850 or 7850.
If you want a cheap, mid range dedicated GPU, go for the Nvidia 650/650 Ti or AMD 7750/7770/7790 depending on pricing and availability.
If you want a really cheap PC capable of running most 3D games, stick with what you have in the original post.

Keep in mind that you can get that PC, and throw in a graphics card + power supply at any time with a little technical knowledge.

Ok Splintert, I give, I will think about getting those upgrade a little while later, once I see if i'm satisfied with this gettup. Did you make those suggestions with compatibility in mind also? BTW thanks everyone for the advice, it has been extremely helpful.

You should get a desktop, because you can upgrade it part-by-part, which is cheaper than buying a new laptop every 3-4 years. The case, keyboard, mouse, monitor, hard disk(s) and PSU will usually live forever - especially if you buy a powerful PSU. Motherboards and CPU almost always go hand-in-hand nowadays but memory sticks can survive a generation or two. GPU is the easiest to replace and, along with increasing RAM size (memory sticks), is the best bang-for-buck upgrade you can do. If you do your research and hunt for good offers, you can keep playing all games with max (or very near max) settings year after year without paying thousands and thousands for it.

This is the rig I decided to purchase, any compatible upgrade suggestions would be appreciated:

Dell 23 Desktop Bundle
8 GB Memory/ 1TB HDD
Intel Core i5-3330
Windows 8
23' Monitor

I put Warband on 500 soldiers and it has barely noticeable twitches. I am very satisfied, as it came with the 23' monitor and a wireless keyboard and mouse. I don't even hear the fans run. Quick question though: does my i5 have overclock capability?

Integrated GPU I assume? If so, the first upgrade to get is a graphics card. Something like a 660/760 would be very nice for you.

Would this one work?

ASUS GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

That card does need two six-pin power connectors, so make sure that your power supply has those connectors available. If not, you'll need a new power supply or adaptors on other types of cables for the card to work.

I just looked at the specs on it and it says it only needs one 6 pin.

Oh in that case, make sure you have one, I thought I remembered it needing two but if the specs say otherwise then great.

You should be able to run just under 30 FPS on average provided there aren't over 50 soldiers on the battlefield.
