paying to stay in a city you own- bug

Hi I am a vassal of the Spanish and own a city and I thought one day it would be nice to stay at my mansion, as the 1200 quid a night to stay at the tavern was ridiculously steep, unfortunately it did not let me and told me too leave. Is this a bug?, as surely once you take a city it seems right that you ,as you own the city, don't have to charge yourself for staying there and should be allowed to use the mansion as I am the governor?
Thanks for any answers , would be nice to know before i start paying these awful tavern fees!

I imagine you might have discovered this by yourself, but I´ll answer anyway. If you own a town, you may sleep in the tavern for free; even though it still says you must pay, it won´t cost you a dime.

Nah iv never checked just assumed it was ripping me off! Anyway thanks for clearing that up for me!
