Hey everyone. I'm new to modding and i'm developing a mod for Warband.

What I need is; A proper tutorial (or you can do it for me) Remove all castles and some villages. A I'm ready to pay for that or I can give you credits.

Want to change Vaegirs Troops and Lords to be Orcs, i have the Meshes I only need to add the Race in game.

If anyone can help, please...

Cheers

I thought I deleted the other thread. I really need help, I've been trying to make mods like 100 times but I never completed em due to my lack of knowledge. If anyone can, please help me.

Start with simple things dont just start with modding and plan to change whole faction...
You can delete town's from map by visiting Module_parties.py and commenting out all vaegir towns...That will work but probably you will get couple of errors (maybe you wont) if some part of code uses p_rivacheg (party rivacheg) but i think that just deleting will work...About Orc things i really dont have time...
And if you readed this that will be 100$

c'mon @Dark, at least give him a hour worth of work.

U$100/hour for expert modding sounds fair

People will generally help you as much as you help yourself. If you lack the knowledge to mod something, read tutorials about the module system, read bits of code to understand what they mean, and experiment when you're ready. If someone writes a tutorial for you it might take them hours of research and typing even if they're an expert, and even the nicest people aren't going to spend hours doing something for someone who can just as easily do it themselves.

Create a warband mod is a huge amount of works and needs to be splited into multiple tasks by different persons. Perharps getting a team dev is preferable before anything else. I don't want to
discourage you but warband modding time seems to be over since we know that Bannerlord is coming soon.
Keep your ideas and stuff for the next opus?

To get back to your problem, there are a bunch of tutorials available on this forum section.

Here it is for castles and others. (This example deals about villages, but castles and cities works closely, I guess)

@Blackburn
You should note that in troops entries tf_male and tf_female are flags for different races with body parts, overall look and sounds (like when you punch your orc you dont want him to cry like a little girl) defined in module_skins.So study skins and write your own for orcs and there you are...
70$ will probably be sufficent for this.

@Kalarhan i need to think about my future...My kids have to live from something ...

@Dark Nord

What will you say if i send you my mod, you add the body meshes delete the castles and earn some money, what do you say

I'm offering money, not for free. Is it that hard ?

Depends on how much you're offering to pay. You've effectively created a job for someone to do, as it's an exchange. That means there's the pressure of having to actually complete what they do, and do things to the way you want them done. A little bit of money is not going to motivate someone to take up that kind of task for something that is otherwise a hobby. Then there's the issue of trust. Are you going to pay when it's completed, or before it's done, or set up some kind of payment plan? If you offer to pay when it's completed, how does the person who did this for you have a guarantee that you'll pay them what's owed? If you pay upfront, what if they don't do anything for you? Are you going to draft up a legally binding contract?

Basically what you're asking for is not necessarily hard, but it is a lot of work, and there are lots of things that have to be considered before anyone is going to actually accept your offer. Unless someone is seriously hard up for cash, there's probably no amount you would be willing to pay them that they would accept for doing what you are asking, and in that case there's a lot of ways out there (legal or not) to make money that don't require nearly as much effort.

in other words:

you find someone to do the work. You make a basic design/specification of the work. The modder then tells you how many hours of work that takes, and how much he wants for the work. You pay it up front (at least 20%), and pay more as the work progress (at some milestones).

Say it takes 100 hours of work. At $25/hour (if someone is willing to work for soo little). That is $2500 bucks, with $500 bucks upfront.

Are you willing to pay for that? That is the big question. Say you will pay is one thingy. But without numbers it doesn't mean much.

Because based on past experiences in this forum (and others) you may be thinking that $20 should be enough for everything you want.

ThegnAnsgar is right.

and

If you really want to pay people to make a mod, you better make a clear concept about your planned mod in The Pioneer's Guild thread, then ask people to join. If you make it as interesting as possible, maybe some people want to join you even for free, because modding is more a hobby than a job.

After you did that, contact me, i'm good with warband modding. This is one of my work: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,339268.0.html.
I made that mod with just a brick (i mean an old notebook) and myself. But i decided to abandon it about one year ago due to limited time and tools.

So, if you really have a lot of money, this is an offer for you: Make a clear concept, give me a proper laptop/pc and you'll see your mod done.

and it's okay to make a mod for Warband even we know Bannerlord is about to come. Because, if you already have a team, concept and some resources (like models, textures, sounds, etc), it will be a good start to mod Bannerlord.

I agree with everyhing else you said but from what we know about bannerlord, very few resources are going to be transferrable from warband. Unless the models and textures are made and baked using modern techniques (a few are, like the models for L'aigle), you'll have to start from scratch. Even the L'aigle models are unlikely to be directly transferrable because the textures will work completely differently.

Even sounds and flavour text might have to be discarded if they decide on using a different setup (perhaps one which doesn't play every individual sword clash but instead plays a background noise near bigger fights).

How many oil fields you got?
Yeah about 60-70$/hour i would make it...Are you willing to pay or is t better for you to start learning stuff from modding as your whole mod wont be just those 2 features so if you are not Sheik (how is it spelled?) dont expect to finish your mod.
