Patrol's wages?

Sergeant at Arms
Hey guys I made a few patrols  for my fiefs to scare away those pesky bandits and enemy Lords' war parties that keep harassing my people. I was wondering is there a way to see how much the wages cost per patrol?

I looked on the weekly budget screen but I don't see any indicator as to where, or how much, the weekly wages cost per patrol. I can ask my staff member, (the constable?) about my troops movements and he will tell me how many troops I have on patrol but will not reveal their weekly wages. Evidently, I made the mistake of running out of money in my treasury so my patrols disbanded as I was not able to keep track of my overall budget. (oops)

My first assumption was that the patrol's wages just come out of the Castle's garrison wages in which they were assembled but I cannot confirm this. Can anyone help me out?

Kind Regards,

Muglos.

*EDIT* Ok so I just asked my staff member as to give me a report on my army and he told me I have 0 troops on patrol. Which is incorrect. Is this a possible bug?

iirc patrol wages do show up on your weekly budget as "Shariz Patrol" " "Dhirim patrol" etc

Talk to your constable, ask him to move a patrol.
If he tells you you don't have any, the patrols probably got destroyed by enemies.

Garrisons are half wages, patrols are full wages and they are kept separate.

I'm obviously missing something here.

As of right now I have a large patrol guarding the village of Amashke but there is no listing of "amashke patrol" in my weekly budget report. I know for a fact that the patrol is alive and well because the patrol came out of Unuzdaq Castle which is literally RIGHT next to the village of Amashke so I can see it even if I'm waiting inside the castle.

I even tried waiting a week for the budget list to refresh to see if that did would refresh the list but nothing happened. And the constable still says that I have zero troops on patrol.  :???:

Did you personally create that patrol?

I have taken enemy fiefs before and the previous patrol, created by the AI, remained to guard the fief. They were neutral to me, but I couldn't give them orders and they weren't on my payroll.

Talk to the patrol and see what the dialogue options are.

Try creating new patrols and see if they show up on your payroll. (if you have autosave off or don't mind spending the money)

Edit: I've had it happen a few times in 2.4, but I've been playing 2.5 lately and haven't noticed this.

Interesting... I followed your advice and tested something out and got some results.

So the patrol that I have guarding Amashke was one that I enlisted from the constable and it appears I cannot give them any commands. They are also the factions color that I'm allied with (Orange). If I try talking to them I even have the option to kill them.

I decided to create a new patrol out of newly recruited peasants from the castle garrison. However, these peasants are grey as opposed to the Swadian orange. I can also give these guys commands. And I can also see their weekly budget report.

So it appears if I decide to create patrols enlisted from the constable, I cannot give them any commands or see their weekly wages on the budget report. I'm not sure if this is how its supposed to work or not, but there it is. Bugged or not, I cannot say.

If I create a new patrol from troops in the castle garrison, the patrols seem to function exactly like they're supposed to.

Thanks for all your help.

i had similar issue in 2.4 described by Muglos.
I cant provide more details as its been nearly an year since i last played floris 2.4

Which version are you playing? 2.4? or the 2.5 beta?

In 2.5 beta (before patch 3) I recall both methods working.

I used the hire elite patrol option to get high tier units which I then just commanded to fortify my garrisons.
And I frequently used the create patrol from garrison to create 1 man patrols for spotting enemies.

Looking back I think those patrols that I mistook for belong to the previous owners might actually have been my own patrols that bugged out, while I assumed they were KIA.

I am currently playing 2.4 and I see what you mean by buying recruits and then using them to refortify the castle's garrison. I would be doing this as well if I had the ability to command them to return to the garrison.

I've been hanging back from 2.5 until the final release so I cannot confirm if these issues are in 2.5
