Patch Notes v1.2.12

Users who are viewing this thread

-One helmet has been added.
-One armor has been removed for improvement.
-Now the *weapon name* does 0.4% more damage
we fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when you opened the inventory, so that we could fix it 10 times at the next update, and we added something to the changelog.
To further add to this:

"After much deliberation, we have ultimately decided to close down the multiplayer portion of Mount&Blade 2: Bannerlord on (date and time, timezone)

While we understand that we've had a small audience of dedicated players, the upkeep of running and maintain the servers unfortunately outweighs the amount of activity on them. To ensure that our dedicated players have a new home to migrate to, we have partnered up with Torn Banner Studios and Tripwire Interactive to sell a Bannerlord/Chivalry 2 bundle, and to most of our fans, this will effectively be a 15% off coupon on Torn Banner's game.

Throughout the rest of the game's running, we will increase the loot gains by 5x, as Chivalry 2 will also feature the ability to import your progression from our game to Torn Banner's. For the purposes of progression importing, your profile will be stored for an additional year after termination of service.

Due to technical limitations, Bannerlord to Chivalry 2 importing will only be available on Steam."

"Due to technical limitations, the import of Bannerlord into Chivalry 2 will only be available on Steam," - That's why we decided to spend all the remaining funds on porting this migration-update to consoles. After all, our main audience is on consoles! So, you'll have to wait another year and a half for this migration-update. However, don't worry, the Torn Banner team is waiting with you for this migration-update!
We are very pleased that we can continue developing the multiplayer mode of another game. Our original game was developed as a multiplayer project, and we want to continue working in this direction.

Multiplayer

Stuff
  • Added serious rubberbanding in TDM
Really, i feel like i play on 150 ping while i have normal ping. It's unbearable and need to be fixed asap.

Multiplayer is unplayable and ****ty mess with lags and rubberbanding. Bring it back to what it was last patch and we are talking.

I just want Bannerlord's multiplayer mode to be a viable alternative to Chivalry 2. Is that too much to ask, especially when Warband was a viable alternative to Chiv1*?

*65% of that came from people having enough honor to not spam archers, and the other 35% comes from factions not being egregiously better or worse than each other when taking that honor into account. Bannerlord's MP install base definitely can't be trusted to not spam archers, hence why I think we need class limits in default servers

After some more testing, rubberbanding and innate lag is only on official servers, so it's not a version issue, just servers ****ing sucks and i can't play on them. Or both, can't really test.

FIX IT ASAP I CAN'T PLAY THE GAME.

When they ready to share something they will. Soon is whatever time frame they use. You can ride their ass every day of the week and it doesn't change anything. They won't respond any faster, or give out any more details before they want to. You bought a game, it doesn't make you entitled or privy to whatever they are doing whenever you want.
Sorry, is it entitlement wanting to asking for communication now?

I think I already explained why communication won't happen.

It took them as long as it did to release an update that would take other developers a few weeks to push out. It's much more likely that 1.3.0 is gonna just be TaleWorlds announcing the multiplayer model's termination and calling that the final update.

Dude you gotta stop with this weird speculation that they're pulling the plug on multiplayer. I've no idea where you're getting this idea from. Far as I can see Warband's servers are still up, and those are much older and far less populated. I get that you're seething about multiplayer being bad, but there's nothing to suggest they're planning to shut it down.

The activity that is regularly seen at multiplayer is low enough that one can assume that the only people left playing it only care about flexing how loyal they are to Steam that they'd rather suffer the insufferable instead of redeeming the much better game for free 5 months ago.

The fact that they took as long as they did to release an inconsequential update that only serves to break singleplayer mods shows that they really can't do anything meaningful to the multiplayer mode, and I highly doubt that a baker's dozen of players (give or take) playing the game because "epic games bad" justifies the upkeep of running and maintaining the multiplayer servers.

Why on earth are you assuming bannerlord's multiplayer is related to some weird 'steam vs epic' conversation.

Because Chivalry 2 ate an Epic Games Store exclusivity deal, and the state of Bannerlord's multiplayer is such that more people than not would rather install the Epic Games Launcher to play something better.

Except Chivalry 2 has been on Steam for two years and Bannerlord's multiplayer is still worse than installing the Epic Games Launcher. Also, the fact that Chiv2 was free to keep on Epic Games for a week means that anyone who genuinely cares about what Mount&Blade offers as a PVP game would've already redeemed it, and the players left behind after that Epic Games freebie are only playing Bannerlord's multiplayer to express their refusal to use the Epic Games Launcher

Chiv is a pure MP game. Bannerlord is a single player focused game with a MP option. Quite sure that have something to do with things more than EGS. I got EGS installed, never bought a game from them. Didn't say no to the freebies though.
