The main reason why "no one cares about multiplayer" as you put it is because the devs insisted on making the online component full of intentional imbalances where the gameplay loop is either "farm kills from defenseless players" or "feed kills because unfair PVP game design". There are people who care about Mount&Blade's PVP offerings, and they've mostly moved to Chiv2 out of frustration with Taleworlds' mismanagement of the game.No one cares about multiplayer. Just work on consoles and single players Devs,
I care, <snip>.No one cares about multiplayer. Just work on consoles and single players Devs,
I think it just how most people feel. It's not worth playing and just my view.why would you affirm something so blatently wrong for everybody to see ?
Agree it's always been dead. May aswell just focus on single player on consoleThere's not enough people that play multiplayer either, especially on console. I rarely get a game in multiplayer on Xbox anymore.
Well that you may. End off the day most off player base don't care about multiplayer. It's had it time and finished.I care, **** you.
It's not small group of players, TDM and Siege very often max out before they crash.Well that you may. End off the day most off player base don't care about multiplayer. It's had it time and finished.
Devs just need to release and work on main base game for consoles and pc and call it a day I feel.
Waste of time keeping lights on for a small group bunch off lads who like to get to have multiplayer events. The rest off multiplayer community is dead I'm afraid. You will never find matches unless you are part off a group.
You won't find them if you don't engage with the community. No one plays TW MM. MP community has multiple of their own Skirmish matchmakings. And so far, the competitive scene only grows with the new and new people coming. Up to 60 teams in one tournament, record high so far. As for general population of casual players, it doesn't look good indeed. You will never find matches unless you are part off a group.
You're not wrong about this, but I feel like you don't understand the WHY of it.Multiplayer has always been dead, apart from small groups who like to get together and have events.
Do it, if you have balls.<snipped> Because the next time you speak to me like that, I'll be happy to get temp banned to teach you to show some <snip> respect
Thanks kind sir, but I didn't ask for a explanation in regards to multi player. You're not wrong about this, but I feel like you don't understand the WHY of it.
Warband's multiplayer had a pretty strong following between the years of 2017 and 2020. Yes, I know that the game released in 2010, though its peak years were the date range I mentioned. Archers are arguably even more unfair in WB than in Bannerlord, though it was a rarely played class during its peak years because players at the time had enough honor to not turn the medieval PVP game into a worse version of the cover-based shooters that have oversaturated the Xbox 360 era of gaming, and the melee system at least in my personal opinion felt more rewarding than Chivalry's. Having played both Chiv2 and Mount&Blade, I've always felt that stamina existed to put a cap on how good a player can be, while being in a 1v1 with an evenly skilled player in both Warband and Bannerlord is one of the most satisfying things i've experienced in honestly, any PVP game, really.
But to get back on topic, why multiplayer worked is not JUST because "have some honor, don't spam the shooter class" but also when that honor is taken into consideration, no faction was really that much better or worse than the others that skill becomes optional. Honor is admittedly fickle in Mount&Blade multiplayer, and I've seen a few matches where you've got a team of sore losers who decide "Nuh uh, this match never happened" and just stack archers, which often denies melee classes the ability to actually play the game.
Why Bannerlord's PVP didn't work is because even if archers are sparsely played in a given match, players can still play around actually being good at the game, and I've already mentioned multiple times on how a player can do well at the game without actually being good at the game.
Yeahno, i'm not gonna respond to your whole post but honestly, I think you're right about this. However, the impression I get with Bannerlord's post-release support on the singleplayer side of things is that they seem to be out of juice, if lack of a better way to describe it.I don't believe taleworlds has the development team to work on two parts off the game and have success with both.
I considered that to be a self-requested temporary ban. Maybe we'll see him next month.Do it, if you have balls.
Still nothing? Okay...
None of us have that knowledge, don't even think TW does.Could anyone with some knowledge on the matter tell me, would it be possible for them to switch the game engine? Or significantly overhaul the existing one so it offers greater flexibility and stability? We have been waiting for that next update for so long that I wish to believe they are working on something very major, and not just some new trivial in-game mechanic, balancing, server fixes or visual additions, such things do not justify such a long period of complete darkness.
Patch 1.3 will come, and given how the December update was handled, I think we can expect it to just be a bunch of minor bug fixes that break people's mod lists, and seeing that yesterday's peak player count was 18, I also think my prediction of a multiplayer termination of service is a valid oneI'm pretty sure now that even a 1.3 patch won't come.
Stop to be so americacentric. EU have 100+ daily on official servers, with peak higher than that on jest official servers. Why are you like this?Patch 1.3 will come, and given how the December update was handled, I think we can expect it to just be a bunch of minor bug fixes that break people's mod lists, and seeing that yesterday's peak player count was 18, I also think my prediction of a multiplayer termination of service is a valid one
Agree there's so much negativity for such a good game which is sad.Hi folks
Before I begin, I’d like to offer a quick disclaimer: what you’re about to read is entirely my personal opinion, and I want to be completely transparent here. Everything I’m sharing comes from a place of genuine honesty and good intentions.
Honestly, I have little to no issues with the game. I’ve been playing Bannerlord since the days when TW was rolling out frequent updates, but I took a break for a while because I didn’t want to keep starting over every time a new patch dropped. It was frustrating to make progress only to have to restart due to constant updates, so I decided to step away and wait until things became more stable. Now that I’m back after the latest update, I haven’t encountered any bugs whatsoever. The game runs smoothly, and I’m having an absolute blast rediscovering everything it has to offer.
For me, Bannerlord delivers exactly what I’ve always wanted in a game; building my own Empire from the ground up, leading massive armies into battle, and managing an economy through workshops, caravans, etc. There’s something deeply satisfying about conquering new territories, and watching my influence spread across Calradia. The sense of progression is incredibly rewarding, and I love the freedom the game provides, allowing me to shape my own story rather than being forced into a rigid, linear narrative.
Of course, I’d love to see even more features added over time such as a deeper diplomacy, more roleplaying elements, and even more variety in troop types and equipment and more. But as it stands, I genuinely don’t understand the high amounts of negativity from some players. Every game has room for improvement, but Bannerlord offers such a unique and immersive experience that I find it hard to be overly critical. Maybe my perspective is different because I’m primarily focused on singleplayer, but that sandbox experience, the ability to carve out my own path in a living, breathing world is precisely why I fell in love with the franchise in the first place.
At the end of the day, I think this game does an excellent job of fulfilling the vision of what Bannerlord is meant to be. It’s not perfect, but the sheer depth, freedom, and strategic complexity make it one of the most enjoyable and engaging games I’ve ever played. I can only hope that future updates continue to expand upon what’s already a fantastic foundation.
I’ve been a passionate player of all the Mount & Blade games for years, and I honestly can’t get enough of them. I started when I was about 12 years old (bought the original M&B and M&B: Warband together) and now I'm 27. From the very first game to Bannerlord, I’ve seen how the series has evolved, and I love them all for different reasons. Even now, I still find myself diving back into Warband regularly because it’s just so packed with content, especially with the countless mods available that completely transform the experience. There’s something about Warband that keeps drawing me back in.
That said, I want to make it clear that I’m not here to be some mindless fanboy or to blindly praise these games. I’m a realist, and I’m offering my honest opinion based on my experience with both Bannerlord and Warband. I genuinely think that both games have their own unique strengths and areas that could be improved, especially Bannerlord, but there’s no denying that they’re both incredible in their own right. For me, these games are the only games I can really lose myself in for hours on end. The depth, the freedom, and the open world sandbox experience are just unparalleled imo.
Sure, I do play other games, but they rarely hold my attention for as long as Mount & Blade does. Most games just don’t have that same level of immersion and replayability in my personal opinion. I’ll pick up other titles here and there, but I always find myself coming back to Mount & Blade because nothing else quite scratches the same itch. Whether it’s leading a band of mercenaries, creating my own kingdom, or simply getting lost in the chaos of battle, the Mount & Blade series is the one that I keep coming back to time after time.
To me, there’s something special about these games. The freedom they offer, the way they let you create your own story, and the incredible community of players who constantly breathe new life into the game with mods and new ideas. It’s an experience I just don’t get from any other game. So, while I do agree that Bannerlord and Warband are not perfect games (no game is perfect honestly), I can say with certainty that these games have become a huge part of my gaming life, and they’ll continue to be for a long, long time.
Tl;dr: Call me a fanboy if you want, but I’m having too much fun with Bannerlord to care. I’ve been playing the Mount & Blade series for years, and despite its flaws, it’s the only game that keeps me hooked for hours. I love the freedom, depth, and replayability it offers, and that’s all that really matters to me.
