v1.2.10 Beta

The patch has been released to Steam and will follow to other platforms once the remaining obstacles have been resolved.

Singleplayer​

Crashes
  • Fixed a crash that occurred in encyclopedia when switching between characters quickly.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when assigning a commander to a formation during the Order of Battle phase.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred due to a multithread issue during siege and hideout missions.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred during a conversation with a freed prisoner if multiple prisoners had been saved from the enemy party.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when assisting a settlement under siege while a peace vote was under way between the factions.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred during the destruction of cloth meshes.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when trying to drag two objects at the same time (as a result of Alt+Tabbing).
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when refreshing texts.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when refreshing map nameplates.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when pressing the “Click to continue" button during the very first frame of a map conversation.

  • Fixed a bug that caused parties to abandon their army when the army leader was inside a settlement under siege.
  • Fixed a bug that caused parties/armies to continue besieging the settlement even in the presence of a larger threat nearby or when that was otherwise no longer logical.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the “Coming of age” notification from appearing.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented some companions from being listed on the party role selection list.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the “Preventive Medicine” perk from healing you after performing some hostile actions against villages.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the assigned governor from teleporting to the target settlement.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the brother and sister to spawn when they reached 18, even if they were not rescued.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to get stuck after finishing a siege while having an active “Lord Needs Horses” issue quest.
  • Fixed a bug that caused numeric input fields to be unresponsive to a certain digit, if that digit was the last remaining one and was previously erased.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the "campaign.add_attribute_points_to_hero", “campaign.declare_peace”, and “campaign.declare_war” cheats from working correctly.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a defending army in a siege to disperse without a valid reason.
  • Fixed a bug that caused breakout mechanics calculations to use player army count instead of the player party count when the player is not the army leader.

For a moment, I got excited thinking it would be a good update, but nope, just another crappy beta to fix crashes. In three months, when you finish fixing the other 100 bugs these "fixed crashes" will cause, I guess you'll start working on version 1.3.💀
 
Some much needed fixes in there thank you. The console update is still a while off as this is beta I take it? Also any news on the independent clans destruction/recruitment mechanic? Do you plan to let the player recruit them after they have lost all settlements? You can marry clan members into independent clans and they are just lost if the other kingdoms don't recruit that clan in time.
 
Finally a worthwhile patch to bring myself and the masses back.

I applaud you and the team for really getting stuck in over these years since EA and tackling the core problems with the game, even at the expense of the radio silence - although it did lead forum abandonment - was worth it, which is clear to see now. It WAS literally unplayable, dull and freakishly bare bones for it's pricetag.

Now with the "Coming of Age" notification popping up every time when it's suppose to for everyone (except for a few players on a rare occasion) I think we are finally there. We have reached perfection.

Thank you for all the hard work you put into this development. It has really shone through with this patch in particular. If I ran a game company, I'd snap yous up in a heartbeat. That's how good yous are.
 
While there are some really nice changes to the AI, why did you decide to release this as beta 1.2.10 instead of releasing it with beta patch 1.3?

@Piconi @Dejan are we still THAT far away from a beta patch 1.3? I know that all of next week is holidays in Turkey, which means that you would be unlikely to push any hotfixes, but still, having these fixes as part of a much larger 1.3 release 2 weeks later would've been much better (and frankly more acceptable after waiting for 1.3 for several months without a peep from TW).
 
when will the problem with helmets not available to the player be fixed? the lack of brass Aserai helmets has been reported for probably over a year.


 
While all the fixes are greatly appreciated. This is something I said should have been done in an early access not full release. The game should have been polished and the focus now should have been more on content so I am a bit confused as it is taking many months with no real content. The other issue is when I see opt in and help report problems. So you want use to communicate with you on things but your communication with the community has been dismal for months. Why are you asking the community to do something that you won't even do? Of course they will never address this point. We just want to know what's going on is all.
 
Good update.

It might be a good idea to communicate a little regarding what you are working on, or doing next, its been a year since the last development blog/update.

It will curb alot of the frustration and uncertainties from your playerbase

A lot of work has been done, but I haven’t found a single reason to test this patch; throughout my entire playthrough I have never encountered any crashes or errors.
If a stable patch comes out with only these changes, then I will most likely just put the game off for a long time.

Same. I was just about give up on the game, thinking it's never gonna get the updates it needs. Now, especially after seeing campaign.declare_war cheat is working, I think it's time to get back to the game. I hope the new diplomacy options are pretty good since they have been working on it for months. It really was cooking well, thanks @Piconi!
 
Still no fix to cavalry slow down before the impact. Make cavalry use full speed when both attacking and moving to a point.
