Patch Notes v1.2.10-1.2.11

Users who are viewing this thread

At this point it's up to the modding community to give us what we actually want. The devs either don't have the skill to do what the modders do or they just don't care anymore. Its either gross negligence or gross incompetence at this point
Yep, at the same time, we've been beta-testing this game for 4+ years now, with and without mods. I'm done doing all that mid-patch dance with mods/incompatibility/game breaking inquiries.
I know this 1.3 patch will amount to naught, even with the 1+ years of "development" into it. TW just needs to get this patch (as was publicly mentioned there will be one) done, fix the 100s of bugs it introduces, and just end it there; regardless whatever state game is in after this patch. Honestly, I'm fine if they cancel this 1.3 patch, for whatever excuse/reason, and we can all just move on with this 1.2.11 being the final state. Mods to make of it what they will from there, one last 'proper' playthrough with a complete game, then relegate game/studio with the rest that failed.

too many bugs to fix, too many half done features or badly done.... Idk what Armagan was thinking in releasing the game that quickly. If he was afraid of competition he lost his gamble badly all games launched on the same period is having a golden ride

They will probably release this 1.3 since they committed to it too many times to count, but I don't think they will be fixing those hundreds of bugs, or at least not unless you are willing to wait for them to do it in batches of 5 bug fixes every few months... would take 5-10 years probably.

After 1.3 released the hope lays entirely with the modding community, but I wouldn't blame them at all if by now they have already moved on or are planning to.

You have a compiled list of those hundreds of bugs? I see a few that people keep report on, I don't see hundreds of the same.... please feel free to share.

Patch 1.3.0 hasn't come out yet, but based on every patch before (even within smaller 1.2.x segments), we see hundreds of fixes/crashes constantly.

This current 1.2.10 thread alone has about 40, I'm not even accounting for the multiplayer ones; or the subsequent 1.2.x's to date. You can count them yourself (it's public info), I know there's hundreds; and a very good chance a lot are of the same fixes/causes if worded slightly different. Even if you give them that "but it's all different bugs"; it's still a ridiculous amount of crashes we're dealing with.

Then 1.1.x, and 1.0.x; these are all post-release to note as well. Pretty sure the interval between 1.0 > 1.1 > 1.2 was collectively shorter than what is adding up to 1.2 > 1.3 (TBD still).
So, what is the reason this patch is taking so long, even as a beta-post-release version? Lots of stuff or lots of nothing?

You can't rate fixed bugs as bugs any longer... I was asking for a compiled list of those hundreds of unresolved bugs that still there according to the poster. So, there must be such list in existence, if such claims should be valid? I spent about 30 hours with the game the past couple weeks after rebuilding my comp, and haven't run into any issues. If there had been hundreds of unresolved bugs the chance is I would have been stuck cursing at the screen a few times or?

You're adding the "unresolved" into this context for the bugs. Pretty sure we are talking about the 100s of bugs this 1.3 patch with inevitably introduce.
Just like 1.2.0 has with subsequent 1.2.x updates essentially just being "fixed this or that crash/bug". As it was with 1.1 and 1.0 ones, live and beta.

And, if as, you claim, you haven't run into any issues? What are they working on then that's taking this long. Either it's something relatively significant, dealing with current 'blocker' bugs, or it's only one part-time WFH guy still assigned on this project; and it definitely feels like the latter.

The poster I quoted said there was hundreds of bugs. He didn't say it was hundreds of fixed bugs. Which would imply he refer to unresolved bugs. If a bug is fixed, it wouldn't be a bug any longer no? Re-read what he actually wrote.

I got no idea what they are working on. And, no I haven't found any issues in my current campaign on 1.2.11. Just because I haven't had any doesn't mean others haven't though. Just saying, if it had been hundreds of bugs it would be very strange I wasn't affected at all.

If you go back in this thread, you see they posted and said further updates would take longer time. Keep hassle them about why it take longer time. or when it's done hardly would change that. They will share something whenever they feel like they have something to share, whatever.. as they done in the past.

Is it likely a smaller team is working on Bannerlord now? Yes, why shouldn't it be? They stated the game is fully released, its almost 2 years since it left early access. Quite sure their primary focus is on a new game whatever that would be. Do you think the likes of Bethseda still have 600 something people working on Starfield?

Re-read the trailing context, believe they were mentioning what I meant of "hundreds of bugs" (as would be introduced with patch). Not bugs resolved, or currently active list of bugs.
Communication from TW is non-existent, so only evidence of bugs is that other thread forum (pretty sure a bunch tagged unresolved for a while) or based on what they curated on to their patch note list.

So what? Just because they put out a sentence that 1.3 will come eventually; we should just stop asking? Let's just close this whole forum down, the game, as they said, is "fully released" -- no point discussing anything.

I'm pretty sure the ratio between what Bethesda has since release to what it is currently is (not yet a 1 year since their release) is far better that whatever TW has. All I see are job vacancies for this "fully released" BL game still on their company webpage. That definitely doesn't sound like resource allocation is focused properly.
Pretty sure Bethesda just updated with a vehicle feature randomly, with a DLC announced a month from now (as was communicated they were working on since months ago).

@JunKeteer that guys probably is one the lead Devs defending a half done work.. or his family to one of the devs or Armagan himself. probably his daddy, Armagan, is paying him up to come here and keep defending a half done job that is pretty clear to anyone

He's one of those guys that doesn't know quality stuff

Well, TaleWorld didn't have 600+ devs to start with, so yes the ratio would be less. Bethsedas focus now is on the next elder scrolls, And the DLC coming now, is the one you could pay for already at release of the game. Don't fool yourself they was already working on that at release of the game. Not something they worked hard on recent.. As for the rover, I seen people not very happy about that one. Check youtube for some laughs there. Bethseda only came up with that one because of all the crap they got from the players. Their stance at release was there was no need for such as you got your jetpack... because reasons...

There is sites you can find on the internet that show TaleWorld have grown in size as a company. What they are doing is their business and if they want to share any of it, they do that on their own time, not when you demand it.

Ta deg en bolle...

They don't, but even despite the difference (as afforded simply by a larger resource of workers) in the wholistic quality/quantity of the game churned out by BGS vs TWs. The comparable outputs post-release are quite noticeably better fairing with BGS/Starfield; even with the extra 1 year of TW.
Bethsedas focus now is on the next elder scrolls,
Ok? We/they also announced ES6, and their plans after Starfield with it. Does TW do so? Not even sure where this 'space' game news came from; they sure as hell are keeping mum about it. So as is, until it is officially announced they are moving on to work on a new ip and redirecting resources that way, it's assumed their whole staff should still be assigned to BL.

This pretty much aligns with what I'm trying to point out. Everything post-release from BL so far, is stuff that one was expecting to be complete at release of game. They practically stated it months before their "full release" as things they were doing. And they are still barely complete, 2 years in now, is that "working hard"?

Ok? And I see as much on forums stating its benefits; YT has inherent rage-bait incentives to it that anonymous forums aren't as plagued by. So yes, you want to spin that as likewise with those with YT or other forums praising the current BL patch, go ahead. But if you're taking the "bad" reviews of the rover patch, you must also accept the "bad" reviews of BL equally; you're dismissing one while only accepting the other. You're the one that brought Bethesda into this context, I'm only responding to it in context, not praising Bethesda per se.

Nor am I demanding it, it's literally not my business. What size, how many workers, etc...doesn't matter.

Proof of the pudding is in the eating. We got nothing in the good couple of months now. Like trying to get a waiter's attention after already returnign the dish to the kitchen for a mistake in your order, and only to get short "it'll come when it comes" after half an hour.

You do know that ES6 is Elder Scrolls 6 right? ;p Which is their current focus. Microsoft did shut down 4 of Bethsedas game studios a few months back though so they got less devs to go around now. TaleWorld is their own masters and doesn't have overlords like that....

Afaik the space game stuff came from TaleWorld had job openings announced with job description pointing towards it.

Game studios is a business, Their business is to make games. When you do cash up front games, your biggest income would be at release month. That income goes towards cover the cost of development, and whatever else goes towards future projects and the dance start all over again. Expect a game studio to keep work on their game 2 years after release at full force is wishful thinking, that doesn't pay the bills.

Yes, as everyone was aware of it even before Starfield came to be. Whatever opinion you have against BGS and/or "ManAgerS bAd". We got Skyrim, FO4, FO76, and Starfield all in relatively the same timespan as is between WB and BL. DLC for Starfield is also releasing in a month or so, I can safely bet it'll come out and be patched/fixed way before this beta 1.3 for BL comes. So, whatever "review" of those games are to you personally, it's quite, objectively provable BGS at least has people working and organized.

Ok, and you can follow it, I have zero desire or confidence this studio's "culture" will 180deg change given how they treated their one and only ip M&B. BL (a sequel) took ~12 years to "full release"; you can espouse whatever technical challenges between the WB/BL - but I can't imagine any success will come from this space game. Not technically, story, features, graphics, etc...WB was lightning in a bottle, BL was just banking on that. I doubt TW has the creative capacity to think up something else successful. If they need to bank on "from the studio that brought you M&B series"; lol, good luck.

Obviously, pretty telling they rushed this "full release" to all platforms because they were running low on the reserves from the EA sales they practically squandered with the development pacing (as was just as poor before "full release"). They got this second cash injection (now 2 years ago) and are just sitting back with it, are they redirecting it to a space game? No clue, but has nothing to do with this current game.

Is 1.3 patch coming at all and does it actually exist in the works? If they were "done" with this game, sensible thing is to just deal with bugs/crashes, with a skeleton crew, and move on. Yet, they said they aren't, but also, we have zero context any work is being done at the same time. So which is it?

I'm not expecting patches to come from games that were full released and complete, as rightly so, they are complete. So my stance is the same as is, TW needs to communicate on this 1.3 patch or just drop it. Then we can keep this 1.2.X or whatever as the final complete game and all move on.

If someone doesn't show anything, it doesn't necessarily mean there's nothing to show. Just the time hasn't come yet.
Revealing some cool stuff will help competitors steal that stuff for their own projects. Keeping update details in secret is good idea from the business perspective.
after bannerlord released, a lot of company start from 0 to finish new game without FIXING 4 years...
what r u living?

Don't expect others to do the work for you, if you want to see the reported bugs go to the appropriate section: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?forums/mount-blade-ii-bannerlord.528/

Just saying, if there is 100's of unresolved bugs.. then I should had a lot of issues playing the game. Now 100+ hours into a campaign on the latest update and I haven't run into any such. Not saying no one have issues, because some do, but it's not the "sky is falling impending doom" some people want it to be.

And, just saying, in this particular thread context, the 100's of bugs were in mention of what would be introduced with this 1.3 patch (ie not existing yet). Not current bugs unresolved, which I'm sure are still aplenty (given that's what pads most of the patch notes all the time). That "unresolved or currently existing" context was added by yourself.

But still you are here, blaming TW how bad they are, instead of enjoying "a lot of bugless games" you're talking about...
