Patch Notes e1.2.1 & Beta Hotfix

I have a 1.3.0 game going and it no longer loads after this hotfix/patch. No mods installed.

I believe one of the devs mentioned in a forum post that savegame compatibility with the previous 1.3 patch was going to be broken with this hotfix, not sure why it isn't mentioned in the patch notes themselves. Unfortunately that is just part of the process at the point we are at right now.

We are talking are about the Beta build. I hate to say it, but if these set backs are gonna bother you, best to stick with the main build after the beta testers get forked over with the changes and report back

Right. I religiously start a new save game with every new patch just because I think it's the proper way to play test, so no argument here. I honestly don't think savegame compatibility should be something devs have to worry about at this point in development.

I'm seeing an issue with Armies. Have crashed 2x, once trying to speak with an Army leader that was in a keep. Second tried to join an army that was currently sieging a castle. Uploaded the crash fix both times.

Edit: Nevermind, this was caused by the Mercenary Armies mod. Was using that mod to allow me to make an army with my companion parties.

In the early access statement prior to the game being on sale they promised to maintain save compatibility as best they can. Yes they said that wouldn't always be possible but they sure as hell didn't say you'd have to start a new game every week. If its not something they can do they shouldn't have said it.

You can always revert back to a previous version via Steam. Directions on how to do this were posted earlier in this thread.

To have an expectation to get to mid-late game in EA (depending on how many hours a day you play) seems pretty unreasonable.

I did not say that you have to do it. I just prefer to do it myself, because that is how you can give the best feedback. If you observe bugs when playing a new patch with an old save game you really have no way to know for sure if that is caused by compatibility issue (and in that case dev time should not be wasted on it), or if it's a bug introduced by the new patch.

As others have said, you always have the option to stick with the previous patch (and actually from what I have seen Steam does that by default, at least for me).

And, as I said, we’re talking about the Beta NOT the main build. So I really don’t think the save game promise applies

Sturgian bonus feat(move faster on snow) don't work.
Probably because snow don't work at all and don't give any penalty to moving.

Yes I noticed that too and I think its great. I didn't like the mascara like shadow that was there before.
I don't like this without shading at all. It gave the face some texture. It would be great if that was an option in the graphics settings.

Hi guys, I encountered this issue of large armies fighting becoming slideshow as well.

Being a programmer myself, just like to point out that using Afterburner showed that it was a NO LOAD, which only happen in menu or static screen meaning there was nothing to load or no loading of graphics either way. Must be some compilation errors in the codes or something.

Putting it up for the TW team to see this and hopefully can help quickly in the troubleshooting.

I'm running the game on SSD, no mods and my rig has no issue whatsoever.

What is no load limit?
No load limit means that there's nothing for the GPU to do, so it clocked down. Usually happens when not in game or you're on a loading screen or something... and potentially, when a CPU core is pegged

Cheers,

I wonder if something with tactical AI was done in 1.3 cause in recent battle with Aserai they used horse archers to attack me from behind. First time I saw AI using such tactic. Horse archers moved out of range next to my flank and headed to back of my infantry and ranged and started attacking when they were exactly at my back.

Edit:
One more uncommon thing I saw was AI splitting infantry in 2 groups while they started clash. They moved one group to the back and when they got to position they charged like some second wave or something.

Beta 1.3 has battles lagging so bad that I can not fight in a battle. Until Beta 1.3 I have not had any lag in battles or any crashes at all.The game still does not crash, but it is impossible for me to do any battles. The bigger the battle the worse the lag is.

same for me, they released a beta branch 30 mins ago, don't know if it does something, my download was 0KB.... but yeah, that definitely hat to be fixed.

Good to see that, these are the things that are needed to counter F1 F3
