Thats not the only problem, you open Steam the door to market investigation, like the idiots who use google chrom. And then you are surprised why the advertisement fits to you.

Providing relevant advertising is not a problem. In fact software which provides irrelevant advertising should be considered a problem. With regards to steam the only advertising I get is about new game releases and special offers. In most cases this isn't at all intrusive and more often than not has allowed me to get some great games at ridiculous prices.

I love it how one poor guy mentions that he purchased the game from steam, then everyone changes topic to if steam is evil or not. Can't we leave that discussion for another thread?

If anything the only thing steam does wrong in my opinion is sell games cheaper resulting in me losing a lot more cash than I normally would be willing to fork up.
