I've noticed this issue in game.. party size morale has huge effect on my morale as whole. The more units i have the more negative it gets. (its currently -79 ;i have 75 units). So i wanted to ask.. how to reduce(dont say that i should keep amount of my units low, because i dont wana do that) it or disable it? I command nordic faction.. full of infantry so i am quite slow (5.1 speed normaly) most of partys manage to run away... and finding big parties can take some time ... Sure food variety etc. helps.. wining big battles helps aswell (but then again these are hard to find) and lets say when i face enemy party size of 250 with my 75 it turns into a blood bath .. leaving me very vulnarable after battle is over.. with 20units dead 45 wounded... etc...

I don't understand how you managed to get yourself into trouble with low party morale with only 75 people in it. I have 133 and have no problems. I don't know how it happens - it comes naturally. Several basics: don't lose battles, don't loot villages, have a food variety, spend nights in towns.

I. winning fights
II. a good variety of foods
III. get your leadership skill as high as possible. Actually Int is the most important stat you have. Str and Agi can be balanced by the fact that you're humans and you enemies aren't.

Once your army hits a certain limt you'll fin yourself fighting all the time to keep the morale up though.

Add some Calvary and Spotting Skill for speed... Best advantage in this game is to be able to pick and choose your battles. Speed is the key to that. My group right now is running 6.4 to 6.9 last time i checked. Mainly Swadian Knights though (gots to love them cavalities!)

I'm rolling with that low of a party right now, (70 to be precice). I keep the other 250 members of my army in my castle. I keep lots of Butter and Honey in my food stores, fight as much as I can, and make sure to keep my men paid. Fighting is also the best way to gain experience, money, and just damn fun!

However! I didn't know staying the night in a town or village helped with Morale! I will keep that in mind.

If you're going to continue as Nords, focus on a few things: Surgery! Keep from losing your Huscarls. Huscarls!!! They are probly the hardest to train in the game but worth it, take care of them ( Surgery). And butter and honey.

Also, Visit each little **** village you run by and check for good deals on furs, wool, tools, or oil. Depending on your region... If you can find furs for say.... 43 denari in a little village and sell it in Jakela for 350+..... That's a good deal.

And Pathfinding skill. Spotting lets you see them before they see you. Pathfinding lets you run faster than them in pursuit of evasion.

I have to say that I agree that the morale thing stinks.  I deal with it as I think it's just an aspect of the game even though it's not realistic.  Someone here told me that a good trick if you can do it is to garrison everyone but your companions and go fight small groups.  This will boost your morale quickly.

In the past I've always loaded up on all kinds of different food.  However, I'm rethinking my tactics.  99 is maximum morale, so if you have lot of points from +food, your recent events score can only go so high.  I might try the tactic of keeping only one kind of food until my morale starts to drop and there aren't any parties to kill close by.

I posted how to modify the leadership bonus you get for party morale. The game is definitely playable as is. If you would still like to change it go to this thread:

That will increase party morale for all situations. Not a great fix, but it works.

Yeah, if you and your 'close buddies' come back from a successful bandit hunt and grab a full army, they'll be riding high on the tales of your success... It's a bit unrealistic, but just the way the world works, I guess.

That's an interesting approach. Worth a shot. Remember each the score after each component of morale is added in (in the order they're shown on the report, IIRC) is capped at +/- 99 too.
