Party manegement and slots

Instead of allowing a point in Leadership (and threfore a new slot for troops) every 3 point in charisma, I´d suggest to allow a pint in leadership for every 2 pints in charisma but only add 3 tropps for every slow

As it is now, with 12 charisma, you can have 4 slots and 4*5 + 12= 20
32 troops.

With the new system you could have 6*3 + 12 30 troops, but by haveing 6 slots it would be easier to manage different upgrade trees and it would be somewhat easeri to maintain a balanced army

I think the slots are just silly, I want a balanced army which is impossible unless you have a uber high leadership. I not too bothered about the amount of units i command but I do want lots of unit types.

i wouldn't mind the slots being done away with. it seems to me like as long as you can afford an army you would be able to raise one. I'd like to see leadership affect morale in combat (once the AI gets there), so that if your group of infantry are being charged by a group of knights, your high leadership skill would give them the confidence to hold their lines, whereas troops being led by someone with a poor leadership skill would run away from situations like that. (and being unusuable in the battle as if they were knocked out, but returning to the party after the fight is over)

In addition, I support the idea of placing troops under the command of the different hero npc's, so while one division led by a hero with low leadership may break and run away, a division led by a hero with very high leadership skills would feel much more confident, and perhaps even fight better.

I'd also like to see tactics affect the complexity of the commands you can issue to your troops (i started thinking about this because from what i can tell, the battlesize changer kind of makes tactics pointless, because all troops from both sides would be on the field unless the armies fighting are gigantic)

I don´t like very much of the slots system either. You have a big problem always when you have to recruit new warriors, because you can recruit only Rank 1 and 2 tiers and most of the time you won´t have slots enough for them, thus making the only way to replacing your troops is rescuing prisoners.
Actually I think to have heroes in your party is a waste of a precious slots. They get knocked fast, don´t upgrade your own equipment (neither gets money enough to pay for them) and have as advantage the fact they don´t die. To counteract this, they should add slots equal to their leadership skill, making them your liutenants. So, have a heroes would be a good trade, and won´t be a waste os slots.
For example: If you have Charima 12 and Leadeship 4, you can have 4*5+12=32 men. If you have two heroes, you can only have 2*5+12+2=24 men. And the heroes hardly worth 8 men. But f they add slots based in their leadership (leadership can´t even be upgraded when they get levels), would be worth have them in the party.
Let´s say, you recruit a hero with Leadership 1. He would add a slot. If he has Leadership 2, he would 2 slots. And so on.

Surely you can still have the same number of men (less two for the heroes), just not as many different ones? If you have 5 slots and 30 men max (for example) you can either have 30 men divided between 5 slots or two heroes and 28 men divided between 3 slots? Or am I missing something simple?

Man, I´m dumb  My bad. Yes, you can have the same number, but the total of men are way less important than the slots you have, because few slots make difficult to you upgrade your troops and have a balanced army.

I think the slot system is realistic because it is harder to effectively lead a group of archers, while organizing a cavalry rush, while ordering infantry into position. Not that you do that in game as of now, you just scream "SWARM!". But that's why I think the slot system is in place. Keep it, I say. It makes you decide whether you want 15 fresh recruits or 5 knight.

Untill we can control seperate groups of men, having slots is usless. Yes, it is hard to control a whole heap of different guys but we can't do that anyway. Chuck the slots untill group control is implemented then re-instate it, or at least make it an option.

I had posted this in the Extra Npc's mod but i think it belongs here.

I think there should be an option to have more slots ( I know some players like it the way it is but i am sure there are a few who would like it if there to have more slots for troops). An idea would be, what if your hero Npcs had a patry sheet of their own so those with leadership skills can train their own troop and i would have more slots to hire my own troops.( I would be the general and my hero npcs would be my captains)
