It appears that, though in single player particle effects appear at a distance, they only appear up close in Multiplayer.
Is there any way to change this?
I have tried using a variety of particle effects and tags to no avail, including psf_always_emit, prt_mesh_smoke_1, prtcl_dust_a, and even prt_mesh_fire_1 and prt_mesh_fire_2. Yet, some maps have smoke effects (IE, camp fires) which appear from any distance. What is the difference here?
