Parry or blocking proficiency

so, here is my suggestion. A proficence (or less favourably, skill) that would do a few things:

1. Increase the speed in which you would draw up your arms to parry or the speed in which you would draw up your shield. (it would work along with the shield speed but i say we should drop shield skill as you will see later)

2. Increase the time in which the opposition you just blocked are "shocked" and cannot attack back.

3. decrease how much damage your sheild takes and, if it is implemented in the future, the durability of your weapon

I think if these things were implemented it would mean training in infantry combat could give you an advantage on foot when facing large groups.

For example when surrounded you could block the attacks of the people around you and if you were of a high level then this would give you the time to kill one of two in a sweep of your axe/sword

and ideas/suggestions?

Probably great ideas, but only for those who like to solo. Im not one of them. I just can't wait for the AI to become any useful in battle.

Killing hordes of handicapped mobs don't sound like fun to me.
For me, M&B is way too easy now.

My personal opinion is, if the game gets dumbed down even more, it's gonna end up at the crapyard. There's a strong competition in the hack'n'slash area these days.

Yeah, this sounds like a good idea. I've been chopped down from being in a stunlock from taking on too many guys at one. Surley if you were extreamly skilled with the sword you could block or parry in such a way as to completley throw your opponent (off balance).

I like this idea-in my opinion it would imporove combat, make it more dynamic.

In my opinion, adding this proficiency wouldn't dumb down the combat, or give the player an unfair advantage. The ai characters can have high proficiencies; the knights, for example, have all their proficiencies at about 100-200. Higher level enemies would be better at fighting if this idea was implemented.
