Grandmaster Knight
So, I just bought this from Steam at an 86% discount, 34 games total for $80. I now how an extra copy of both WB and M&B, and I have no idea what to do with them... any ideas? Has anybody else seen this pack, and considered purchasing it? There are really some excellent games included in the pack such as all the Hearts of Iron, the Europa Universalis series, and the Victoria games. I myself have never givern any of these titles a go, but I have heard good things about them. I more or less bought it for the selections such as King Arthur: The roleplaying game, and Lionheart: King's Crusade, etc. I'm likely going to be spending the next 2 or 3 weeks downloading all of these games, and I can't wait to give them all a go.

As for the two M&B games, have any liked relatives that like games and don't have it, or good friends?

Not really, I have a few who might give it a go, but I'd rather give them to somebody who i know will enjoy and use it.

Yeah, you were ripped off though. It's only £30 for us Europeans

Already own most of the games so I didn't bother. Got Lionheart from Gamer's Gate though, which was five quid cheaper than Steam (and they have the DLC available).

In fact, the only games I don't already own apart from the first two HoI is Ship Simulator Extremes and Woody Two-Legs. Oh, and Vicky II but I'll hold off on that till I've had time to properly play the first one.

The rest are all good games, though it's what's missing that's a shame. No Crusader Kings, and there's only one of the Majesty 2 expansions.

Indeed. Was worth it for me, considering I only had M&B and Warband from the pack before.

Like Archonsod, I have too many of the games in that pack to make it worth it.

Shame, I really wish I'd never played EU3 so I could learn it again.

I'm sure you can find someone who wants a free copy of warband.

There's some game callec Crusaders; Thy Kingdom Come, but I don't believe it's the same as Crusader kings. I

Give Warband to me, I'll certainly use it

If you're really interested in the copy of Warband, I may well give it to you if I can't find a friend of mine interested. Not sure how to give others games over steam once their already bought however.

Nope. Crusaders TKC was Neocore's first game, it's basically the battles from King Arthur / Lionheart strung together one after the other (well, there's a bit more to it than that). It's quite fun though.

You're not usually able to unless it specifically says you can. If you can it's Games > Manage Gifts and Guest Passes. Select it from the list, click send and then either enter their email address or Steam username.

Yes, I'm actually reading a book based around King Arthur right now, so that King Arthur game (which has tempted me for quite a while) was irresistable when grouped with all of these other games. I just hope I can get into EU3 and Victoria 2, seeing as some of my friends have told me the learning curve is a bit steep.

EDIT:

I also happened to notice that the pack included Sword of the Stars and all of its expansions, and I happen to be partial to sci-fi games, thanso this certainly adds to the appeal for me.

EU is easy. Hearts of Iron 1 & 2 is harder. Hearts of Iron 3 is incomprehensible. Victoria is like the Necronomicon, you can understand it, or you can be sane. You can't be both.

Really? Because I played Victoria 2 over a buddy's house and I seemed to do fine as the U.S. just randomly spawning armies and attacking Mexico... although I didn't have any idea what I was doing in the other areas of the game, and sometimes I couldn't get armies to spawn.

Excellent summary! I'll have to write this down..

Victoria 2 seemed easier than HOI3 to me at least, but I didn't really like it either. I'm just sticking to EU3, CK2 when it comes out, and M&B.

I think Archonsod is refering to the first Victoria, which was indeed a hellish nightmare to learn properly.

Hell, have any enemies? It's guaranteed to ruin their social life for the next two years.

Who needs a social life when you have Mount&Blade? I sure as hell don't.
