Pafnuty

I am following the Black Mace quest line and finished the Crow Book quest. I bought the book from the merchant and when I left the city received the quest for Pafnuty. I have not been able to find him at all. I also don't have the book in my inventory. Is there something I have missed, any help would be appreciated.

I just needed to ask the nobles where he was...

You take Pafnuty (he joins your party) to a village he names.  For me it was Poyni (close enough) controlled by Muscovy. He stays there two weeks.  Whatever city he is in you don't have to look for him in the village, an option to "speak with Pafnuty" appears on the village main menu.

Soon after this you you get  a quest to go back to Nevizh which you have to fight a large army, have not defeated yet.
