Wait a day or so for the shops to refresh their stock I suppose. I was lucky enough to get some in Zendar immediately this time around, other times I've had to search the entire of Calradia day after day to find some.
Also it sucks.
I'd love to have the padded cloth request substituted by a request for... well, padded cloth or better.
We had an entire thread about it lately - it just isn't a very convincing item fetch quest.
Remember, quests like this aren't the "be all, end all" of M&B. I am sure many of the quests are just testing methods for developing the game. Basically, a mechanism to see if the game engine works the way it is supposed to.

It should be removed and made less retarded and monotonous. 'Get the dude some gear' doesn't have to be an absurd hunt for one particular sort of armour.
Generally, if you want more exciting quests and such, the mods are the way to go. This is still unfinished, and the devs are working hard to put together the framework that they want, whereas the modders are doing a great job of adding storyline and such. I'd rather have Armagan working on stuff that won't have to be upgraded with every update, which much of the storyline would. Just look at how long it takes the mods to get updated for each new version.
You're of coure right. I'm therefore not talking about Armagan geting into content creation storymod style.
I was just talking about changing the padded cloth thing. I don't think that would take much dev time or cause problems with updating for newer versions.
