Own music implenting

I want my own music in the game, is this possible and how?
Is it also possible with  .mp3 files?

As I'm getting bored by the current music, I want some new stuff for during the battles and cetera, to keep the fun up.

It is possible, but personally I just run Winamp in the background and mute the ingame music.

I beleive you need to add the MP3's to the music folder in the mod directory.
Then edit the music.txt file to include the new songs.

That's as much as I know, there used to be instructions somewhere, but you would have to search for them.

Thanx pall, I did a morning of searching, I'll just try it your way.
I wasn't sure about the mp3 part.
It's for when I'm travelling with my laptop, I like to play on as high graphic settings as possible, as I use an external music player I'll have to turn them down a bit, something I do with pain in my heart. And not just this game, even the most graphical games. Cause on the highest, this game doesn't look as bad as they say on some reviews.

I run a Khergit Campaign and really wanted some topical music, so I underwent a major expedition to change my music experience. I tried to replace relevant music files in my native campaign music folder, and modify the music.txt but there was no effect. The only way I could get results was by replacing music in the root. Both .mp3 and .ogg music formats work.

I sure would like it if someone came into this thread and explained how to get it to work for whatever mod you're running, as my attempt at compartmentalized music additions failed.
