Own Kingdom, maximum fiefs ownable?

So i have my own kingdom, gathered a couple of vassals and distributing new settlements to them. After owning 3 cities and 4 castles, i cant vote for myself anymore when the vote starts. I am not even a candidate. Is this intentional? If yes, what is the maximum i can own?

Can i own 7 fiefs in general?
Can i own 7 cities and no castles?
Do i have to be a higher clan level to own more?

Is there an option to give up a castle somehow? I cant klick on Propose becaseu i cant annex the fief of a ruling clan (my clan).

+1. i have 6 clans in my kingdom. what determines which 3 clans are on the ballot for new fief?

No there's no limit as far as I am aware - i have about 10 in my save, and that's because I captured them before I invited a lot of clans to join.

It's just the game balancing it out a bit, the 3 options are clans who 'deserve' it the most. I'm not sure how this is calculated but I expect it takes into consideration influence, clan rank and number of fiefs.
