I would say the Talvar is my favorite - has an old used look to it but you dont doubt its effectiveness....

the Yatagan in "Some swords" posted by Sir Peter......That would be a very nice sword....interesting design.....seems to be a rather new design of the yatagan - but a fine one, would do very nicely as a cavalry saber perhaps or a good secondary weapon for pikemen - I like that there is no guard - people seem to think guards are a must with swords...

the "Janissary Sabre" is actually a variant of the yatagan...shorter, longer, plain, fine gold bling bling - still a yatagan but the one used by the Janissary may be considered "standard military issue" in the given period of the item like europian cavalry in modern times would use a standard military issue saber etc etc.....then again - eastern military regulations and arms isnt really my field.....a shame really since it is quite interesting.

here's the Janissary Yatagan low poly I'll redo it later since this one doesn't look nice also the texture isn't clear because the picture is in perspective so I had to deform it a bit in order for it to fit the mesh

for a low poly it's a damned nice yatagan....really neat banners - personal favorite would be the face/cross/three small stars...the arabic ones have style too.....only missing greek cross then - and pagan i guess

Edit: sorry i mean the lorraine cross....you could also make some with a celtic cross or high cross to show irish or nordic early christian style...

eastern cross isnt bad - or the papal cross...there are some nice crosses to work from on that page....its a bit irritating i cant judge if the arabic/muslim banners have a deeper meaning.....was only able to learn English and German in school.....

Thank you - it is always good to have all the info one can get. *checks the banners again* - ah yes - now i know how Allah is written......wait what is that difference between number 2 and 12 - the two small signs in number 2 - a "nose" on an upsidedown "fishhook" in each downward bow... - fancy decoration or a dialect or even an honorary addition to Allah's name/position etc?

hmm - very nice map.....You could almost add some of the sinai - a shame there isny more of egypt to provide space for a nation there with the sinai as a choke-point - naturally I am only saying that from a strategic view of the map - like you may view a battlefield - the Golan hights if a border area between to nations would also have importance and would make advances "interesting".....very nice..

My favorite would be...ehhhhhh.....1...........4...7..8....lets just say I like them all...
