I think the "esports vs expectation" comes from the main playerbase for MnB wanting large scale servers. I suspect a lot of people looked at Warband esports and saw small numbers, and now look at BL main matchmaking and see small numbers, so just draw the conclusion that therefore esports was the main goal. It's not really the case, as for matchmaking to work you simply need a smaller population game mode - to regularly fill 100 person servers via matchmaking you'd need huge numbers, even some big games can't manage it. So that's why it was one of the focused areas for BL, not really any esports consideration.

It does highlight the lack of fulfilment of community desires though, there just hasn't been anywhere for large scale casual players, and is why Battle would've been such an easy win for the developers. Just need to pop up a few servers of Battle mode, one about 40-50 capped and one about 100-150, and you appease both older Warband comp players and the casual fanbase who want cool roleplaying shield walls etc.

I thought it was pretty funny too
Yeah. Send some new accounts to derail the threads then lock these threads to stop them from getting too much attention all the while you make salty comments on Taleworlds about how they are "blind" and you shouldn't support them. Really buddy? He just proved my point there. Funny stuff.

Jokes are funny. Yes. I agree.

I was about to post what I thought of a solo queue option, or a queue where you have less than a certain amount of wins in a game mode. The topic was locked before I could. Very disappointing to not be able to voice complaints on a thread about how to improve the game.

Also, the fact that the board is mostly complaints is due to there not being much positive to talk about. The mod thinks we think about him when most of us left caring about the game are just thinking about why we are unable to play the game due to queues being messed up for a week and the constant crashes on siege that have been present since launch.

The powers that be claim that the feedback given has already been given in "easily accessible" other areas, yet nothing is done to address the feedback outside of minor stats changes that are ultimately inconsequential compared to the games core problems. So obviously the feedback either isnt being heard as clearly as they claim or its straight up being ignored. Either way, if the feedback doesnt get addressed, it needs to continue being given. This is not a complicated process.

Either he is suffering from depression or something like that and likes to abuse his forum permissions or this is the Taleworlds' official way of silencing dissatisfied players where they have the option to pin it to a single mod account just in case the whole thing goes sideways. Any thread which gets around 1 k views is in his radar. As I said, I don't buy his act. Censorship is pretty obvious at this time.

You are not a bright one, are you buddy? I reported the ones who try to derail the thread because I knew he was gonna pull the same crap which he did. What are you on about?

Edit: the complete post I made, keep posting gifs, they don't make you look any smarter.

So you're OK with me closing it, as that's what you expected when you made the report. Glad to see we're on the same page here.

I don't have any official guidance from TW on moderation outside of the posted mission statement & rules, and as I mentioned previously in this thread the rules weren't even written by TW. They had some minimum requirements for legality's sake (e.g. no porn, no piracy) but that was the extent of it.

I'll take my mental health advice from some place other than a Turkish video game forum, hope that's OK.

No, I'm not OK with you closing it. I reported the ones who tried to derail my thread early to "protect the thread". I expect a moderator to issue warnings and mutes to people who break the rules, not censor the threads which people use to state their opinions and suggestions, based on unfounded nonsense. Excuse me for not thinking that locking threads without giving proper justification and with an arrogant attitude and stating that "the thread ran its' course" when it's not even 4 days old and when it's only 3 pages long is a normal behaviour for a moderator. You might think "Nothing will work to get Taleworlds do something about it, they won't listen no matter what." and that might be the case but saying that all the while you lock any thread with petty "reasons" which starts to get attention is not rational. Your attitude genuinely makes me worried about your mental state and I'm not giving you any advice other than the advice to seek professional help if you have any troubles, it's easy to take that the wrong way on the internet but unlike you, I don't try to be hostile right now.

I will have to ask you to stop bringing up someone's mental health here, discuss the point and not the person.

You see, we don't act unilaterally here in the moderation team and we discuss things. I agreed with locking the thread because it was simply generating a toxic ambiance which doesn't help anyone.

Your own comments like:

Step 1: Hire interns with minimal knowledge and experience, nothing wrong with that, as long as you have some veterans who can teach them.
Step 2: You realize interns are all you got. In turn, after a long development phase, the end result is, well, disappointing.
Step 3: Hire "Community Managers" who think their only job now is to post patch notes, before the EA launch their job was to create "hype" even tho it was based on false marketing nonsense like "Advanced AI" or "Advanced Diplomacy". They won't touch the game themselves but will make all the decisions without considering any of the feedback from the community, these decisions will end up hurting the experience of the majority.
Step 4: Create forum accounts to challenge those who criticize the game and how it is managed.
Step 5: You still profit even tho a vast majority of your playerbase is unhappy.
Step 6: You still profit so you will keep doing the same crap until your next "sci-fi" game comes along and sales are not that great this time, apparently leaving a bitter taste in your playerbase affects sales(!), so you downsize and continue with less interns.
Step 7: Who cares because now you are rich.
@Dejan Let us know if you decide to do your job, we will be here.
Don't underestimate the power of interns.
Easy there cowboy, we would be lucky to have a dev who touches the game once in a month.
Preferably someone who actually plays the game from time...

Are full of incorrect assumptions and are purely toxic.

Besides, there is no secret agenda for closing threads that criticize the company, drop the conspiracies, please, all we are trying to do is to foster a healthy environment for devs and players to interact so that the game and this community can thrive as best as possible.. Sure, many of the game's design decisions ain't helping, but comments like the ones I quoted above won't help either.

Mods really want every post to be some positive reinforcement while hiding behind forum buzzwords like toxic and thread being derailed when things don’t go their way.

Accusing people of posting on these forums solely in a facetious way as a mod does more to create a “toxic ambiance” than some randos posts ever could.

Incorrect assumptions? I regularly play MP, when I say devs don't even touch the game (I said game there but I mean Multiplayer, if they do play Singleplayer, good for them), I state that fact based on experience. It's not at all "toxic" to state it's WRONG for someone who doesn't play quick play modes to decide what's best for their playerbase, you need to get involved with the community who is actually keeping these modes alive and/or you need to go in, play these modes yourself for a while and then make your decision, even it's wrong, at least we can say it has been decided by someone who isn't a total stranger to what is going on and he actually experienced the game and genuinely thought this change was necessary.

And TW has a total of 1 person working on multiplayer at any given time haha. Yeah it can't be compared. TW is mostly focused on singleplayer which isn't perfect but at least they have something to show for.
Don't underestimate the power of interns.
From another thread and it was a joke regarding someone else's sarcastic take "1 person", neither comment is "toxic" in my book, after months of "serious" "constructive" criticisms during the early closed beta/early access times, most people just make sarcastic remarks about development and management and rightly so. Main target of these is actually the management.

Make a poll right now about how many people here agrees with my remarks and considers "Advanced AI" and "Advanced Diplomacy" nonsense in dev blogs to be "false marketing", I can imagine right now how the results would look like.

I said "Easy there cowboy" to a player whom I know and play with sometimes, did you consider that as toxic or was it the "we would be lucky to have a dev who touches the game once in a month." part? Nevermind, I'm convinced I'm the devil now. (joke)

This is all extremely pathetic... this community is dead; and I'm glad for it.
I think putting all sentences bold instead of only all would make your point more stronger
Anyway I was given warning points one time cause I said hookers and blackjack, and after asking delinard for clarifications my warning was removed. So no need to start up a hate thread about moderators

This is a braindead take. Willful ignorance and denial on display, and all it takes to prove it is elementary literacy & scrolling up.

Sure, except by the time the report was viewed that one derailment had itself been derailed. If I had deleted half the posts in your thread and issued warnings for going off-topic, we'd be having this discussion anyway because some of them were yours. It's simpler and less irritating for everyone to lock a thread and treat it as a verbal warning for all involved than to slap half a dozen people with minor warning points which half the time spur them into making more bull**** posts about being persecuted and abused.

So you think a derailment means any post you don't like to see? I'm curious that which of my posts in the thread would be considered as a "derailment", please show me. I was surprised and checked my posts in the thread to be sure one by one and I think I'm gonna have a fun time. Waiting for your response.
