Optimal mesh position in Wings3d

So i made a basic pistol in Wings3d for a mod I'm working on, but when i get it in game, characters are holding it 90 degrees to the left.
Can anyone post a screenshot of what the optimal position for a pistol and such would be so that you hold it realistically (maybe finger on the trigger too) in game?

This is how i positioned mine:

And in game

Sorry if there was already a thread like this, but the search didn't bring me anything relevant.
And be soft on me when criticizing my pistol, it's the first time i 3d-modeled something!
Thanks in advance!

Or use your logic - If it's 90 degrees to the left, you should perhaps rotate it 90 degrees to the right? (In Wings 3D)

Thanks for your help. Pistols need to be facing the continuation of the X axis, and be inclined upwards about 45 degrees.
Seems that my pistol came out much better than i expected it to:

Red Tiger camo FTW! (I'm a CoD 4:MW fan!)

Here you can see me shooting at some guy's head. That "scope" points exactly where the pistol shoots, so it seems that my plan to make a mod with no targeting reticules, where you have to use iron sights and scopes, and all guns have 100 accuracy will actually work.

Once again, thanks. Next time i'll try to solve any problem myself
