Operating system discussion thread - Issues with Windows 7

Reading through the forum it seems a lot of windows 7 users are having trouble login in to the multiplayer and running the game in general.

Some of you might not like windows 10 but it's a new game engine and most hardware drivers are optimized for windows 10.

If you're having troubles with the game and you really want to play, think about upgrading to windows 10.

It's beginning to to as though if you are running older hardware on Windows 7 you won't be able to play the game without issues.
If you are running windows 10 with old hardware you're probably safe.

There's no hot fix for this and I can only see continuous optimization of the game engine will help.

Upgrade to Windows 10 if you really want to play Bannerlord or multiplayer or wait until they post a patch fixing this issue within the next week or so.

It's my observation and could be wrong. Please continue the conversation to help others.

I have Windows 7 and the closed beta multiplayer worked just fine. The single player also works (as good as for everyone else at least), just multiplayer doesent work now.

How new is your hardware? Because I won't if a mix of old hardware and windows 7 drivers might be limiting the ability of performace for that combination.

Gtx 1060, i7 4790k, 16 Ram, its pretty recent and what the game should be optimized for, just no win 10

My system is very old, GTX 770 and i7-3770, 8 GB DDR3, Windows 10 with SSD and runs just fine on low.

The newish hardware might be why you're running fine.

The Combination of old hardware and Windows 7 would give poor performance. But with new Windows 10 drivers issues may occur. It seems quite obvious that if you aren't on windows 10 you will have issues playing the game.

Hmm maybe look into upgrading to windows 10 if you can and see if that fixes it. I know it's not Ideal but that's the only major change I can see helping. Is it not logining in for you? because that's the issue my friend is having and he's on windows 7. Try pressing escape when the error pops up, my other friend did that and he's playing on multiplayer just fine

I dont want to update to windows 10 just because of that, they said its going to run on win 7 too so I hope they will fix this with next update.

Yeah I hope they release weekly/ bi-weekly updates to address issues quickly. Let me know if pressing escape helped at all.

There isn't a current fix for it if you want to stay on Windows 7. Just have to wait for a patch and hopefully they can fix it

What are your specs?

I know, but many others play on Windows 7 too and are complaining about that, I'm sure they will fix it.

Multiplayer login failed on Win7 x64. Tried a few things like running the Battleeye.exe as administrator, adding exceptions for Firewall and AV but no help as of yet.

Yeah really wish it was a simple fix kinda thing. The devs will fix it or someone who knows their stuff really well might be able to help. I'll keep a look out for any fixes

Mines the same as his. Plenty of people played it with Win7 in the beta with no problem, I think the trouble might be BattleEye, because it was one of the only things besides the addition of singleplayer and some bug fixes that got added today.

Did they do more bug fixes on the multiplayer with ea?

People have tried to trouble shoot with Battleeye and it didn't fix it. Someone reinstalled bannerlord and canceled the install for battle eye and still had login issues.
