In the first release it will be 1v1 only, we are planning to expand on it and add more crowded engagements once we make sure it is stable and get some feedback.

Thanks for info regarding duel mode. Is there going to be a duel matchmaking system similar to skirmish or is it going to be a 30 slots or more server where people can offer duels like in Warband?

32 person server where players can challenge other players to duels

100% support this, although I don't like the clan areas concept, seems hard to implement code wise and if you could get the rest of it up and running ASAP that would cool down the roleplay community hugely, Persistent World started out as a duel server called Calradia Roleplay or something along those lines, so even a duel server with friendly fire and a big map would be enough to sate most peoples appetites for RP in the short term.
